A year ago I downsized my closet to around 30 pieces of clothing.

Less decisions.
Less clutter.
Less noise.

Ironically, I feel more like myself now than I did with a closet overflowing with stuff.

Life feels simpler. Slower. Easier to breathe in.

Also… everything is basically 100% cotton now because apparently my nervous system has opinions too.

The older I get, the more I realize healing sometimes looks less like adding more and more like honoring what your body has been trying to say all along.

What changes have you been making lately to honor your body?

This kid is literally all the best parts of me walking around outside my body.

The sarcasm.
The big emotions.
The tenderness.
The curiosity.
The way he loves so big.

Sometimes motherhood heals you by showing you the parts of yourself God always saw as worthy of love.

Faith Filled Friday:

Every Christian I've spoken to about this has validated they too experience this from time to time.

Not feeling close to God.

This doesn't automatically mean that something HUGE is spiritually wrong.

It often means you're out of balance: burnout, exhaustion, mental overload.

In Scripture, there are plenty of moments where people who lived to worship and love God still said things like, “How long, Lord?” or “Why are YOU far from me?”

If that is you-I'd encourage you to spend some time with Jesus today. A slow walk, feet in the grass, tea in your hand, breathing in the goodness of the Lord.

Even if all you hear is silence, Seek him anyways.

You may feel guilty for wanting rest, needing space for you, wanting support, and even for admitting that you’re beyond exhausted as a mom.

If you have spent years caring for everyone else, caring for yourself may even feel uncomfortable or wrong.

But neglecting yourself is not serving Christ, your family, or anyone else.

God created you with emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. Ignoring those needs leaves you emotionally dehydrated, physically depleted, and spiritually craving.

You cannot continually pour from an empty place without the effects of neglecting these needs bleeding into family life.

When anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, or emotional overwhelm go unaddressed, they often begin impacting every area of your life.

You may notice yourself becoming:

--More reactive
--More emotionally shut down
--More disconnected
--More anxious
--More exhausted
--Less patient
--Less emotionally present

Not because you are a cruddy mother, but instead because you have gone unattended for too long. You’re overwhelmed.

You are allowed to receive support too.

Talk About It Tuesday:

I came across this post on a Moms group and thought to myself "Same" as I read this over.

Masking is a survival skill that many of us neurodivergent people have learned to survive social settings.

Lately, I've simplified this mask by just telling people "I don't know the social skill for this ____" and then ask the question I have.

More times than not, people are willing to share their thoughts. God welcomes us to take off this mask and present our whole selves to him: real and raw.

Being in a large group drains my social battery. Still-I LOVE doing therapy. (The 1:1 is different for me).

What about you? Where in life do you notice yourself 'masking up' to survive?

Online Christian Counseling for Busy Moms
Support That Fits Into Real Life

Motherhood is one of the most meaningful callings God may ever place on your life. You love your family so much, and you want to care for them well.

At the same time, being a mom can also feel exhausting, lonely, overwhelming, and emotionally heavy in ways you never expected. Christian Counseling for Moms can help.

You may spend your days caring for your children, supporting your husband, serving at church, helping in ministry, working a job, managing your home, running errands, juggling sports practices, and trying to hold everything together spiritually and emotionally. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, your own needs get pushed aside.

Again. And again.

Until eventually, you feel disconnected from yourself, disconnected from God, emotionally drained, anxious, overstimulated, or simply numb.

Maybe you’ve quietly wondered:

“Why do I feel overwhelmed when I love my family so much?”
“Why can’t I just pray and feel better?”
“Why do I feel guilty for even wanting help?”
“Why does everyone else seem to handle motherhood with joy and ease while I feel like I’m barely holding on?”

If you feel seen in those words, I want you to know you are not failing. You are not alone. You’re just carrying more than your nervous system was meant to. And the stuff you’re carrying is incredibly meaningful., Its your heart tied to the biggest roles in life you play.

You are carrying a tremendous amount emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically.

Online Christian counseling creates space for you to be cared for too.

Through counseling, you can begin caring for your emotional and mental health while also strengthening your relationship with Christ and honoring the roles God has entrusted to you as a mother, wife, and woman. Together, your faith, emotional wellness, relationships, and daily responsibilities can begin working in balance instead of constantly competing for your energy.

Because you matter too, Mama.

The women I work with often tell me they are exhausted from feeling like they have to pretend they are okay spiritually.

They do not want fake positivity.

They want real support rooted in Christ.

Good therapy should not feel like performance.

It should feel safe enough for honesty, safe enough to wrestle with God and safe enough to process trauma without being shamed.

Comprehensively, it should be safe enough to admit:

“I’m angry.”
“I’m exhausted.”
“I don’t know what to do.”
“I feel disconnected.”
“I’m overwhelmed.”
“I’m struggling spiritually.”

Faith Filled Friday:

Today I want to talk about FAITHFULNESS.

Years ago, I was carrying a lot of doubt from past hurt. I found myself wanting to know where my husband was, who he was talking to, and what was happening at all times. It wasn’t really about control—it was about fear. Fear that came from wounds that hadn’t healed yet.

Over time we decided to build trust by pushing against THAT fear.

Today, we have full trust. I had to learn how to release what my past was trying to make me carry into my present.

Faithfulness in marriage is powerful. It’s built in the small, everyday choices—honesty when no one is watching, consistency when things are hard, and the willingness to look to Christ for discernment.
