Last week, Amherst Subaru stopped by St. Joseph Hospital with a special delivery of 80+ blankets and pillows for patients receiving care in our Cancer Center.

These thoughtful comfort items will help keep patients warm and comfortable during chemotherapy treatments, bringing a little extra care to what can be a long and difficult day.

A historic first for New Hampshire heart care.

On June 8, St. Joseph Hospital and Cardiovascular Specialists of New England successfully performed New Hampshire's first implantation of the Cordella™ Pulmonary Artery Sensor System.

The minimally invasive implant enables patients with NYHA Class III heart failure to transmit pulmonary artery pressure readings from home, allowing care teams to detect changes earlier, adjust treatment proactively, and help prevent hospitalizations.

Until now, patients seeking this innovative technology often traveled to Boston. Today, we're proud to bring this advanced level of care closer to home for patients across New Hampshire.

Congratulations to Dr. James M. Flynn, MD, FACC, FSCAI, and the entire St. Joseph Hospital Cath Lab team for achieving this important milestone.

The Facilities Department is the backbone of the hospital, working tirelessly to keep the building, utilities and equipment up and running every day. So what a blessing it was on Wednesday to honor one of the members of that Department and our June Mission Champion, Patrick Quigley. Patrick not only works hard but does so every day with a smile. We are lucky to have him.

We're excited to share that St. Joseph Hospital has received grant funding through New Hampshire's Rural Health Transformation initiative to support our Health Careers Academy, a summer program that introduces local high school students to careers in healthcare.

The academy provides hands-on experiences and career exploration opportunities designed to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals. Interest continues to grow, with a record 70 applications received this year. Students selected for the 2026 academy will be notified soon.

We're grateful for this investment in our community and future healthcare workforce.

This group of graduates was truly a fun bunch, bringing energy, personality, and dedication to St. Joseph Hospital throughout their time in the program. Our partnership with The PLUS Company and Project SEARCH means so much to our hospital community because it creates meaningful opportunities for growth, independence, and career development while reminding us of the power of inclusion in the workplace.
