In 2016, POTS didn’t gently enter my life...
It lit match and kicked the door in.
I went from running 6 miles a day, being ridiculously independent, and trusting my body without thinking twice, to barely being able to walk 5 feet without getting dizzy or feeling like I was going to pass out.
I felt like my body was rejecting life.
Because POTS is not just “getting dizzy when you stand up.”
That is the part people get wrong.
Your autonomic nervous system controls the things your body is supposed to do without you having to think about them. 🤯
Your breathing.
Your heart rate.
Your blood pressure.
Your circulation.
Your digestion.
Your temperature regulation.
Your sleep.
Your ability to stand, walk, eat, shower, function, and just exist.
So when that system stops working the way it should, it does not affect one small part of your life.
It f**kng changes your entire world.
It changes how you move.
How you plan.
How you trust yourself.
How you get through a day that used to feel automatic.(😘)
That changes you.
But if you know me, you know this.
POTS changed me, but it did not make me weak.
It made me a mother f**k*ng fighter.
I said what I said. 😘
Sharper.
Tougher.
Stronger.
More aware.
Less patient with bullsh*t.
More protective of people fighting things nobody else can see.
So when someone messages me about their daughter, sister, mom, friend, or themselves, I feel it.
Because I remember the version of me who wanted answers, wanted her life back, and still had to keep going.
That is why this matters so much to me.
Not because I wanted to “launch a supplement.”
Because I know what it feels like when your body fails you and stops feeling like yours, and I never want anyone to feel like they are dealing with that alone.
Thank you CanvasRebel for sharing more of my story.
And thank you to every person who has sent a message, shared their story, trusted me with the real parts, or reminded me why this matters.
I do not take that lightly.❤️
POTS may have changed my life, but it does not get to own it.
And it does not get to own yours either.
We fight it.
We own it.
We keep going.
We’ve got this.❤️
