(219)

Situated within Ananda Village, close to Nevada City, Northern California. We offer many retreat programs — spiritual growth retreats, spiritual travels, yoga and meditation trainings — based on the universal teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, the world-renowned author of Autobiography of a Yogi. Our retreat center is situated within the 700 beautiful acres of Ananda Village, just outside Nevada City, California. Guests have visited here for over 50 years, from all parts of the world, with many different spiritual perspectives, to learn more about the path of Kriya Yoga meditation, Ananda Yoga for physical and spiritual healing, and the contemporary application of Yogananda's teachings to help people realize their true potential.

"This was my 4th visit to Ananda and The Expanding Light Retreat. Each time, I am overwhelmed with the reception given by all community members to all who visit, regardless of their time on the spiritual path. Accommodations are fine, rooms are very clean. Food is nicely prepared and always plentiful with healthful selections. The grounds are just lovely -- peaceful and serene -- so inspiring to just walk around and sit.." says Linda on Google

"Expanding Light Retreat is like an oasis for the soul. Because of the roots and maturity and growth they have experienced, it has become a symbol of hope for the future. In the day when the world seems to crumble and brings so much uncertainty, Master’s guidance, Swami’s devotion, and the splendid and devoted teachers and staff, this may be the key to a whole new world in the coming age. I carry so much of what I.." says Marie on Google
