Rokhsar, M.D., F.A.A.D., F.A.A.C.S., an internationally renowned laser surgeon, is a double Board Certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained cosmetic,laser, and micrographic dermatologic surgeon in private practice in Manhattan and Long Island. Dr. Rokhsar is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital. He completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University and attended medical school at The New York University School of Medicine where he received his doctorate of medicine. After his internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, he completed his dermatology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City where he was honored for his teaching and leadership skills as Chief Resident. In addition, Dr. Rokhsar received fellowship training in cosmetic, laser and dermatologic surgery in San Diego, California. In his career, Dr. Rokhsar has been involved in the development of several laser systems and has conducted pivotal research projects to develop protocols for other laser systems. In particular, Dr. Rokhsar was involved in the development of the Fraxel laser technology, having worked with the prototype device for about a year in 2003. Dr. Rokhsar has taught more physicians in the United States and around the world on the use of Fraxel for fractional resurfacing than any other physician. Dr. Rokhsar also developed the non surgical nose job in 2003 and published the first scientific article on this subject in 2005. He has performed the procedure live on Good Morning America and the Rachel Ray Show. Dr. Rokhsar is a frequent commentator on topics related to dermatology on various television shows and news segments including the Today Show, Good Morning America, the Rachel Ray Show, ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, and Fox News. Torn earlobes in women are most commonly the result of long-term use of heavy earrings, or, more rarely, a traumatic tear caused by an earring being ripped out. This is a relatively simple surgical repair that I perform to restore torn earlobes. The procedure is performed entirely under local anesthesia, where I create fresh surgical wound edges and precisely reapproximate them with sutures. The sutures are typically removed within 14 days, and a new piercing can usually be placed in the earlobe about one month later.

Best Procedure for Non-Surgical Skin Tightening

There are many devices on the market that claim to work well for skin tightening of the face and neck, including Xerf, Sofwave, and Thermage. In my opinion, Ulthera is the most effective of these options, producing more consistent results and having been studied for almost 20 years. Xerf and Thermage both use radiofrequency to bulk-heat the skin, which is not as effective and also has a higher complication rate. Sofwave, in essence, is a watered-down version of Ulthera that can only pe*****te the skin to a depth of 1.5 mm, whereas Ulthera can pe*****te to depths of 1.5 mm, 3 mm, and 4.5 mm for more consistent and reproducible skin tightening. Ulthera can be used to tighten the skin of the face and neck, around the eyes, and above the eyebrows for a non-surgical brow lift.

Best Way to Treat Active, Painful Keloids

Keloid scarring is a genetic condition, where, in response to a cut or even a pimple, patients develop exaggerated scars which can often be painful and itchy. We were able to dramatically improve both the appearance and symptoms of the keloids along the jawline of this Asian male after a series of Kenalog and 5-FU injections to flatten the keloids, combined with Vbeam laser treatments to decrease their vascularity and redness.

Sun spots, or age spots (also called lentigines), are the result of long-term sun exposure in genetically susceptible individuals.
One of the most effective ways to treat brown spots is with a laser called the Q-switched alexandrite laser. The Q-switched alexandrite laser is a pigment-targeting laser whose energy is selectively absorbed by the brown spots, causing them to turn frosty white. The spots then typically peel off within 1–2 weeks, revealing fresh, new skin.
Usually, 1–2 treatment sessions are sufficient to significantly reduce or remove most brown spots.

Best Way To Treat Silicone Lumps and Bumps

I consider silicone injections to be very dangerous and unpredictable, as they can often cause disfiguring lumpiness years later. This is because silicone does not belong in our body, and the body tries to wall it off or sequester it, which can lead to lumpiness over time. Unfortunately, this often becomes worse as the years go by.
One of the best non-invasive ways to decrease the lumpiness caused by silicone is through Kenalog and 5-FU injections. I recently treated a patient who was very bothered by the lumpy appearance of her chin. Best Laser for Osteoma Cutis

Osteoma cutis is a very rare condition encountered in the background of long-standing, severe acne that causes scarring. The condition is characterized by flesh-colored bumps, which are actually bony spicules (yes, there is actually bone in the skin!). Very difficult to treat, as there is no formally investigated treatment to treat osteoma cutis.

Here, we are using Fraxel laser, which is considered the number one laser treatment for acne scars. Just beware that your doctor is actually using the Fraxel laser for your acne scar because there are many “Fraxel” lasers on the market. The way you know that your doctor is using the actual Fraxel laser is by seeing the actual Fraxel name on the laser handpiece, which is visible in this video.
