After his internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, he completed his dermatology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City where he was honored for his teaching and leadership skills as Chief Resident. In addition, Dr. Rokhsar received fellowship training in cosmetic, laser and dermatologic surgery in San Diego, California. In his career, Dr. Rokhsar has been involved in the development of several laser systems and has conducted pivotal research projects to develop protocols for other laser systems. In particular, Dr. Rokhsar was involved in the development of the Fraxel laser technology, having worked with the prototype device for about a year in 2003. Dr. Rokhsar has taught more physicians in the United States and around the world on the use of Fraxel for fractional resurfacing than any other physician. Dr. Rokhsar also developed the non surgical nose job in 2003 and published the first scientific article on this subject in 2005. He has performed the procedure live on Good Morning America and the Rachel Ray Show. Best Treatment For Enlarged Ear Piercing Holes

Earlobe piercings can stretch and enlarge over time as a result of continuously wearing heavy earrings and, in some cases, sleeping with earrings in place. The most effective solution for this problem is a surgical earlobe repair.
During this procedure, the enlarged piercing hole is surgically excised, and the fresh edges of the wound are carefully approximated with sutures. Once the earlobe has fully healed, the sutures are removed after approximately two weeks. Patients can typically have their ears re-pierced shortly after suture removal, creating a new, properly positioned piercing.

Surgical Revision of Scars

Although my number one choice for treatment of scars is usually lasers, there are certain scars where a surgical revision would result in a better outcome. This scar on the face, in a hair bearing area, is an example of such a scenario. I posted the video of the actual surgery a few weeks ago. Here, we saw the patient two weeks later for suture removal. You can appreciate that the scar looks much better and narrow without any white areas.

Best Laser for Treatment of Surgical Scar

Surgical incisions can often leave linear scars on the skin. These scars commonly appear as white lines. One of the best ways to improve the appearance of these scars is with the use of the Fraxel Dual laser. This laser helps blend the scar into the surrounding skin. Combination Lasers for Treatment of Redness and Pigmentation

Oftentimes people come with multiple issues requiring multiple lasers. We can often combine multiple lasers during the same treatment session. This patient complained of redness/ rosacea as well as brown spots on her face. Best Way to Remove a Tattoo

Laser tattoo removal can be a completely painless procedure when proper numbing injections are administered at a doctor’s office. The process is often more painful at med spas simply because they cannot administer proper numbing due to lack of certifications. Multiple color tattoos are also harder to remove because colors such as red, pink, and yellow do not readily absorb laser energy. As you can see, when the laser hits the tattoo, a frosted white color forms, which means the laser energy is being properly absorbed by the tattoo particles. Usually, multiple sessions are required at monthly intervals to fully clear the tattoo.

The above patient came to us after sustaining a laser burn on her chest from treatment performed at another practice. She was seeking a solution to improve the marks left behind by the burn. Scar Revision

Although I usually try to use lasers to remodel or revise scars, there are certain scars that will not respond to lasers. This is an example of one of those scars. As you can see, this is a wide white scar in a hair bearing area of the jawline. There is no way we can get rid of the whiteness of the scar or bring hair back with lasers. Best Treatment For Depressed Or Rolling Scars

Some scars can appear depressed or indented, creating a “hill-and-valley” effect. These are often referred to as rolling scars. In this type of scarring, fibrous bands tether the overlying skin to the underlying subcutaneous tissue, resulting in a rippled or uneven appearance.
One of the most effective treatments for improving rolling scars is a procedure called subcision. After thoroughly numbing the area, I use a specialized cutting cannula to carefully release the fibrous bands beneath the skin. This allows the overlying skin to lift and drape more smoothly over the underlying tissue, improving the skin’s overall texture and appearance.

Best Laser For Eyelid Rejuvenation

For those of you looking for a laser to rejuvenate your eyelids, the CO2 laser remains the gold standard. In the right hands, a CO2 laser can often achieve better results than surgery. As you can see in this patient, her upper eyelid hooding dramatically improved, while the lower eyelid wrinkles and skin laxity have almost disappeared. The yellow plaques called xanthelasma have also resolved.
