🌿 Got a minute? Plant-Based Minute | Vol. 9
VEGAN!
Doesn't always mean healthy.
What does “vegan” actually mean?
At its simplest, it means no animal-derived ingredients.
That's it.
And something without animal-derived ingredients can be healthy—or unhealthy.
An apple is vegan.
A bowl of lentils is vegan.
Broccoli is vegan.
Nuts and seeds are vegan.
But...
Candy can be vegan.
Cookies can be vegan.
Chips can be vegan.
Sugary drinks can be vegan too.
They're all vegan. But they're not nutritionally equal.
A vegan diet can be incredibly nutrient-rich—or it can be built around foods that offer very little nutritional value.
Meatless can be healthy.
Meatless can be unhealthy.
What you choose still matters.
So don't stop when you see VEGAN on the front.
Turn it around.
Read the ingredients.
🌿 Ask Better Questions:
What's actually in it?
Because the word VEGAN tells you one thing.
The ingredient list tells you the rest.
