Most people assume the scent comes from the flower. It doesn't.

With geranium, everything is in the leaf. Rub one lightly between your fingers and you'll smell its secrets.

Ours is Pelargonium graveolens, grown and distilled in Egypt from certified organic plants. Green and fragrant, sweet and rosy underneath, with a herbaceous edge.

It works beautifully with citrus — lemon and orange especially — and with lavender, palmarosa, lemongrass and rose.

One more thing, since it catches everyone out. Geraniums aren't geraniums. What we all call geranium is really a pelargonium. True geranium is a different plant altogether.

Frankincense production has its own rhythm in Oman.

Enfleurage has worked with Boswellia sacra and frankincense distillation in Oman since 2008. Resin from Dhofar is carefully distilled in copper alembics using a simple gravity-based system.

Among the sounds of the working stills, Professor, the distillery cat, is usually nearby and completely relaxed.

From raw Omani resin to aromatic oil, each stage is closely managed by the Enfleurage team.

I am very happy to announce the first of our 2026 frankincense oil is in the store! For those of you who know about this incredible journey back, I’ll be writing more in detail once my jet lag has passed. We have been distilling in Salalah, once again, and I drove 2 kg back to Dubai with me, arriving back the the war started. Most Dubai flights were cancelled and/or rescheduled due to missile attacks-the airport suffered damage from drones. I flew back to NYC yesterday, with these 2 kilos, which we are decanting as I write this. More oil and hydrosol is due to leave Muscat for NYC in the next few days if the ceasefire holds. Please note that this is not our full supply, but slowly, slowly. Perseverance, patience and tenacity!

We have set up a temporary distillation, with only a couple of alembics, and it’s an emergency distillation while we see how the wind blows. Honestly, though, we are thrilled. After such a long hiatus, it’s like a dream come true

Finally. After a very long and brutal hiatus, we are home in the redolent shimmer of frankincense. Let us remember the tenets of taekwondo: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit. The skies and seas are a sharp blue, the trees rise and twist from the rocks. We can finally hear the gentle bubble of alembics and the atmosphere envelopes us in the fragrance of frankincense. Happy to be back home in this copper and frankincense alchemic world. It was a very long time.
