Taking photos of my garlic harvest like a man with his fish 🎣

This was by far the simplest crop yet. Planted some grocery store garlic bulbs in November. Put leaves on top to help them overwinter. And watched them grow!

I love that we get to share our garden with our Allan Pueblos campers!

Here’s the latest on my front patio chaos gardening. Rules: 1. If it’s a pretty w**d let it stay 🌸 2. Trim plants, propagate and 🤞 3. Order pollinator plants, struggle to get them planted between the heat waves, wildfire smoke, tornado watches and flood warnings and celebrate when you only lose 2 out of 10 🤦🏻‍♀️🤪🤗 oh and 4. Propagate a bunch of things, forget what some of them are, and wait patiently for them to bloom so you know for sure 😜

Planted more pollinator-friendly wildflowers! Mountain mint, bronze fennel, and turtleheads to go with the milkw**d, goldenrod, anise hyssop, coneflowers, etc. that are enhancing our meadow into a butterfly and pollinator paradise!

Not every group camping weekend needs to be a giant field full of strangers.

Summer Grillin’ is our small group, food-forward Basecamp Brooklyn weekend in the Catskills — built around cozy campfire nights, a little adventure, plenty of relaxing, good people, and really, really good food.

Come solo, bring a friend, or roll in with your favorite camping buddy. You don’t need to be an expert camper. You just need to want a weekend outside that feels easy, welcoming, and delicious.

We get lots of questions that start with “can I join your campout if…?” And the answer is always yes! If you’ve never camped, if you’ve camped a million times. If you come alone or with a group. If you bike, drive, or even take the bus! Everyone is welcome as long as you are up for good times. Good food, and meeting great people!
