She graduated from nursing school in 1972 & went on to serve as a Labor & Delivery nurse & then became a NICU nurse at Timken Mercy Hospital for 35 years. She had a remarkable love for newborns and she could tell you how much they weighed just by holding them in her hands. Her passion for caring for the children never faded. She continued tending to sick children and supporting families with the same dedication that defined her career. While she was well cared for, she deeply missed being close to family, especially her son Lawrence. She was ultimately brought back to Ohio to be nearer to those she loved. Margie resided at Aviva Hills for the past 17 months, where she was treated with dignity & grace by staff. She brought joy to those around her and the staff even kept a special stash of Snickers just for her. Thank you, Aviva Hills, for your care and your great commitment to Margie. A special thank you to Lawrence for his dedication to visit mom every week, Snicker deliveries, and his continued love and support during her stay at Aviva Hills. Cheryl A. Henderson, born January 18, 1961, at Mercy Hospital in Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. She lived a life defined by creativity, kindness, resilience, and a deep devotion to those she held dear.

Cheryl was the cherished daughter of Leo “Pete” Reikowski of Canton, Ohio, and Joanne Reikowski, originally of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Scott Henderson, with whom she shared many years of love, partnership, and family.

Cheryl fought cancer with extraordinary courage and determination. She didn’t just fight cancer- she bullied it for years. Her positive outlook, even in the face of a devastating diagnosis, never wavered. She continued to live fully, laugh deeply, and find beauty in the world

around her-refusing to let illness define her or hold her back. Her strength was undeniable, and her hope was an example to all who loved her.

Cheryl worked for many years as an ophthalmology technician, where she cared for her patients with skill, dedication, and genuine compassion. Her patients adored her, and she took great pride in helping people quite literally see the world more clearly.

She had a remarkable gift for creating beauty wherever she went. She loved gardening, crafting, and decorating. Her home and projects were true reflections of her creativity, warmth, and thoughtful attention to detail. Above all, Cheryl treasured her family. She expressed her love through countless acts of care, her steady presence, and the way she always showed up for the people she loved.

A celebration of life will be held this summer “down the lane,” the place where Cheryl grew up and where so many cherished memories were made. Family and friends will gather to honor her life, share stories, and celebrate the love she leaves behind.

Cheryl will be remembered for her gentle heart, her creativity, her courage, and the way she made life brighter for the people around her. Her memory will live on in the hands she held, the family she nurtured, and the love she gave so freely.

In lieu of flowers, honor Cheryl by planting something beautiful, creating something from the heart, helping a stranger, paying it forward in the drive‑thru line, or simply hugging someone you love a little tighter.
