By the time memory begins to slip, the underlying disease has often been developing for twenty years or more.

This is one of the most important and least understood facts about conditions like Alzheimer's. The changes in the brain begin quietly, long before any symptom appears, during years when a person feels entirely well.

This reframes what prevention actually means. The choices that build your brain's resilience carry the most weight in midlife and earlier, well before there is anything to notice. Waiting for a warning sign means waiting until much of the process is already underway.

The encouraging part is that this same window is full of opportunity. How you eat, move, sleep, and manage stress across the years steadily shapes the trajectory of your brain for decades to come.

What change are you ready to make today?

Not getting enough sunlight might be as bad for your health as smoking.

I know that sounds extreme…But stay with me.

A massive study followed nearly 30,000 women for over 20 years.

And what they found was pretty mind-blowing.

Those who avoided the sun had double the risk of early death.

From cancer…heart disease…and other chronic illness.

But heres the part that really struck me.

Non-smokers who stayed out of the sun had similar death rates to smokers who actually got regular sunlight.

And the women who avoided the sun had up to a 2 year shorter lifespan.

Let that sink in.

So what is sunlight actually doing?

First - It helps your body produce vitamin D.

Which plays a key role in immune function and long-term disease risk.

Second, Sunlight triggers nitric oxide release in your skin

Which helps lower blood pressure and improve blood flow.

Third - It sets your circadian rhythm, which controls sleep, hormones, and metabolism. A huge amount of your biology.

But here’s where it gets even more interesting.

Sunlight also contains infrared wavelengths.

The same type used in expensive red light devices.

Which can support your mitochondria and cellular energy production.

Now, this doesn’t mean unlimited sun. Burning your skin is where risk starts to rise.

But whilst avoiding burning; this is one of the most effective longevity hacks out there.

How much sunlight are you getting each day?

Prostaglandins are chemical mediators, they trigger pain, inflammation, uterine cramping, and swelling. When they spike too high, they can turn normal biological processes into debilitating symptoms:
• Intense menstrual cramps
• Heavy bleeding
• Migraines
• Joint pain
• Digestive inflammation
• Fevers
• Autoimmune flares

Most people grab ibuprofen, but NSAIDs only block prostaglandins temporarily. They don’t correct the imbalance, and long-term use harms the gut lining, depletes nutrients, and raises cardiovascular risk.

So what actually lowers prostaglandins at the root?
Orthomolecular medicine.

✅ Vitamin C – regulates prostaglandin synthesis by reducing oxidative stress
(“Ascorbate prevents excessive PG production by normalizing arachidonic acid metabolism.” – Proc Nutr Soc.)

✅ Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) – inhibits inflammatory prostaglandin pathways
(Used historically in rheumatoid arthritis for pain reduction)

✅ Magnesium – relaxes smooth muscle + lowers PGF2α
(Shown to reduce menstrual pain and cramping)

✅ Omega-3 Fatty Acids – SHIFT prostaglandin signaling toward anti-inflammatory forms
(Replacing arachidonic acid–derived PGE2)

✅ Quercetin – suppresses COX-2 naturally
(Anti-prostaglandin effects shown in multiple studies)

This is how you replace NSAIDs with nutrients that:
• Support the gut instead of damaging it
• Balance inflammation instead of blocking it
• Heal instead of hiding the symptoms
If your period, migraines, or chronic pain feel “unmanageable,” your prostaglandins may simply be out of control, and your body may be starving for the molecules that regulate them.

Orthomolecular medicine doesn’t silence your body’s signals…
It restores the chemistry behind them.

We’ve been told our whole life the lie that sunscreen is the only way to prevent sunburn. But it actually starts with your diet and other simple choices!

1. Consume a nutrient rich diet with plenty of health fats and avoid seed oils

2. Avoid sunglasses so your brain knows when to produce melanin

3. Seek shade instead of sunscreen when spending too much time in the sun

4. Morning sunlight helps regulate your circadian rhythm

5. Sunlight powers every cell in your body and can switch disease causing genes off
