Best Care The most trusted home care agency in Minnesota. I determined to make continuous improvement part of my life.

So how did an attorney who started his working life at Ford Motor Company find himself running a well respected non-medical home care agency 15 years later? The road I traveled from the Ford Motor Company to Best Home Care provided me with the training and experience I would need to assure our clients receive the finest care possible, delivered with the respect they have earned. That journey also

brought an understanding of benefits to seniors of staying in their home surrounded by their memories and familiar objects, and that people of all ages should have the opportunity to be active and independent in their communities. As a successful supervisor in the corporate world, I learned the importance of efficiency and quality and their impact on client satisfaction. As a union president, I learned there are times employees need someone to stand beside them and act as an advocate for their rights. My desire to be a campaigner for fair treatment led me to law school. As a practicing attorney I saw the consequences of home care agencies that do not put the wellbeing of clients before profit. I made a commitment to always remember that the measure of an agency’s success is client satisfaction and not the bottom line. In 2005 I had the opportunity to combine my passion for advocacy, business experience, and commitment to caring for others when my father, wife, and I launched Best Home Care. Since we have been in business we have kept true to our commitment to put service before profit and from our advocacy for others and commitment to excellence we have reaped the rewards of praise and loyalty from hundreds of families.

⚠️ Big news for digital accessibility:

The Department of Justice has updated its ADA Title II rules, meaning state and local government websites and mobile apps now have a clear deadline to meet web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1, Level AA), so that everyone, including people with disabilities, can fully access the services they need online.

Riding in an ambulance can be scary for anyone, but especially for those who are nonverbal.

An ambulance service in Louisiana wants to change that. Acadian Ambulance recently released a new first responder autism kit to improve emergency responses for those who are nonverbal. The tool is available on all Acadian medics’ tablets in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

While this tool is currently limited to Louisiana and the surrounding community, hopefully it will eventually become nationwide!

Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and long-term disability, but knowing the signs and providing help quickly could save a life.

In honor of National Stroke Awareness Month, we wanted to share the F.A.S.T. method:
🔴 F: Face drooping. Ask them to smile. Is one side uneven?
🔴 A: Arm weakness. Ask them to raise both arms. Does one drift down?
🔴 S: Speech difficulty. Ask them to repeat a phrase. Is it slurred or strange?
🔴 T: Time to call 9-1-1. Don't wait. Every minute matters!

Stroke treatments work best within the first three hours of symptoms, so call 911 immediately. Share this post to spread awareness!
