✅️What Information Is Needed After a Loved One Passes Away?✅️

In the first few hours after a loss, it's completely understandable to feel overwhelmed. Please know that you don't need to have everything ready before calling us—we're here to guide you every step of the way.

To help begin making arrangements in New York State, it is helpful to have the following information available:

• Full legal name
• Date of birth
• Social Security number
• Home address
• Date and place of death
• Marital status and spouse's name (including maiden name, if applicable)
• Parents' full names (including mother's maiden name)
• Veteran status (if applicable)
• Occupation and highest level of education
• Names and contact information for the next of kin

If available, you may also want to gather:
• Prearrangement documents
• Cemetery or cremation information
• A recent photograph for the obituary
• Clothing for the deceased (if a viewing will be held)

💡STAFF SPOTLIGHT 💡

Meet Lisa M. Hansson, Licensed Funeral Director.

Lisa was born in 1985 and was raised in the basement apartment of Fretthold Funeral Home in North Tonawanda. She graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 2003. After becoming a mother of two, she continued her education at Niagara County Community College, earning her nursing degree and Registered Nurse license in 2010.

Lisa dedicated 11 years to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, where she worked on the Labor & Delivery unit. During her time there, she became an active educator in Perinatal Bereavement, helping families navigate some of life's most heartbreaking moments with compassion and understanding.

As her children grew older, Lisa decided to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a funeral director. She attended American Academy McAllister Institute, graduating in April 2019 with her degree in Funeral Service. She became a New York State Licensed Funeral Director in 2020.

Today, Lisa is grateful to work alongside her family, continuing a tradition of caring for families with dignity, kindness, and respect. Her passion for serving the community, combined with her nursing background and genuine compassion, allows her to provide exceptional care to families during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

Her favorite pastime is completing jigsaw puzzles. The bigger the better!

Lisa considers it a privilege to walk alongside families in their time of need, offering comfort, guidance, and support every step of the way.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the North Tonawanda and Tonawanda communities for making our recent Puzzle Swap such a wonderful success!

Thanks to your participation and generosity, we raised $556, which was used to purchase groceries for our local Free Little Pantries. Together, we were able to stock seven pantries throughout our communities, helping ensure that neighbors in need have access to food.

We are incredibly grateful for the support we received and are honored to be part of such caring and compassionate communities. Thank you for helping us make a meaningful difference, one puzzle at a time. ❤️
