Congratulations to Julie! She is truly an amazing member of the Woodward Hills - An Optalis Health & Rehabilitation Center and Rivetus team!

Congratulations Julie! She is Woodward Hills’ Employee of the Month for August 2026! Julie is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with Rivetus Rehab for nearly 10 years, although her journey with us began even earlier as a fieldwork student. She has made a lasting impact on all around her every day!

Julie is truly patient-centered. Her kind heart, compassionate nature, and positive attitude shine through every interaction. She has a unique ability to motivate and encourage residents. Her passion for helping others is evident and she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure each patient reaches their fullest potential.

She is also an incredible mentor who has played an important role in guiding numerous COTA students through their fieldwork placements. She is an invaluable member of our team! All of which makes her more than deserving of the Employee of the Month Award! Congratulations Julie! ✨💟

We are proud to announce our ActivePath program at Maple Heights Senior Living in partnership with Homestead Home Health Care to be the new therapy providers!

Our ActivePath program will bring personalized rehabilitation directly to residents through educational classes, wellness screenings, physical, occupational and speech therapy. By identifying and addressing functional changes early, we can provide the right care at the right time, helping residents remain active, safe and independent!

Meet Rachel Rice PTA!

"Hi I’m Rachel! I’ve been a PTA with Rivetus since 2010 full time and graduated from Macomb community college in 2007. I recently completed my certification for LSVT BIG and am very excited to utilize these skills on our patients! I started doing Outpatient with Rivetus this year and love it! I love the 1:1 interaction with patients and being able to provide a continuum of care to continue to positively impact their journey.

I have a husband who is also a therapist and a teenage son who loves theatre and the arts. When not working, you can find me enjoying our pool in the summer and being with friends and family or catching a show on the weekends. I am a
Foodie at heart and love trying new places around town and really should start a blog! :)

It is with profound sadness that we remember and mourn the loss of Faisal Khan. A beloved and cherished member of the therapy team at Woodward Hills, Khan was more than just a PTA, he was a friend, mentor, and teammate.

His impact goes beyond the lasting difference in the lives of countless patients through his clinical skill, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Khan was known for his kindness, sense of humor, respect, and warmth he showed to everyone he encountered.

His passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him. Our hearts are also with Khan's family, friends, and teammates at Woodward Hills during this incredibly difficult time.

As healthcare professionals, we spend our days caring for others. Today, we ask that we also care for one another. Check in on your teammates, offer a listening ear, and extend grace as we each navigate this loss in our own way.

While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the legacy Khan leaves behind - a legacy of kindness, professionalism, and genuine compassion. He made a difference in the lives of so many people, and he will not be forgotten.

Please keep his family, friends, and one another in your thoughts and prayers in the difficult days ahead.

We wanted to take a moment to celebrate a vital part of our team at Rivetus Rehabilitation, Cora Swailes!

Cora has been treating patients in Metro Detroit for the past 15 years as a physical therapist assistant. After receiving her Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration she decided to shift her focus to the billing aspect of therapy.

When she's not working, she loves to give time to her local animal rescue, travel, and spend time with her husband, daughter, and two miniature schnauzers.

She loves working for Rivetus Rehabilitation because of the positive environment, supportive, and comprehensive team cohesiveness she has with her coworkers.
