We are excited to highlight the amazing team at Hills - An Optalis Health & Rehabilitation Center Donna Mychajluk and Kayla Furtney!

Donna and Kayla make a huge impact on the patients they work with and are always willing to lend a hand! They wanted to share some communication tips to support individuals with aphasia.

-Speak slowly and clearly
-Use visual aids and gestures
-Ask yes/no or choice questions
-Confirm what you understood
-Reduce all distractions
-Ask their preferences—person-centered communication

Cameron – celebrating 1 year as an SLP! Cameron enjoys reading and gardening when not helping patients thrive.

Brenna – celebrating 1 year as an SLP! Brenna loves bike riding and getting creative with crafts.

Kathryn – with 18 years as an SLP, Kathryn brings experience, energy, and passion to every patient interaction. She enjoys running and staying active.

We are so excited to announce our new Assistant Director of Outpatient Therapy - Ryan Towns!
Ryan is a licensed physical therapist specializing in orthopedic rehabilitation for the past 5+ years. He has gained experience as a therapist and clinical director treating individuals of a wide range of ages, diagnoses, and functional statuses. Additionally, Ryan was previously employed in an Arthritis & Rheumatology clinic where he had the opportunity to treat and assist individuals in managing a variety of auto-immune diagnoses such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
Ryan is originally from Michigan and attended Michigan State University, but moved to Chicago to pursue his Doctorate in Physical Therapy where he lived for the past 10 years. He has also earned a certification in Dry Needling as well as taken courses for Kinesio Taping and Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Ryan and his family recently moved back home to Michigan and he is excited to join the team at Rivetus Rehabilitation’s Outpatient Department!
