If you’re due for a mammogram, take a moment to schedule it.

For most women ages 40–74, a screening mammogram is recommended every two years. Your health history may call for a different plan, so talk with your provider about what’s right for you.

To ask about mammogram appointments at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, call 760-725-4357, Option 3. If you notice a new lump or other breast change, contact your provider rather than waiting for a routine screening.

Before a night out, make a plan for getting home safely.

Alcohol, cannabis, and some medications can affect driving. Choose a sober driver, taxi, or rideshare if you may be impaired, and look out for others who need a safe ride.

That decision helps protect everyone sharing the road.

Planned DEERS outage upcoming Oct. 9-11

The Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System, or DEERS, won’t be available this weekend. This is a planned outage. It will start Friday, Oct. 9 at 9 p.m. ET. It is scheduled to end Sunday, Oct. 11.
The Defense Manpower Data Center is updating DEERS. DEERS is moving to a new cloud environment.

The Defense Health Agency is working closely with DMDC during this time. The goal is to keep any disruption as small as possible.

During the outage, you won’t be able to use milConnect to make any updates to your DEERS record.

Pharmacies and providers may be unable to check your TRICARE eligibility. There are also other benefit systems that rely on DEERS. The outage may also affect these systems during this time.

Do you need to update your information in DEERS? This may include phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses. Or do you need to make a change to your health plan enrollment? If so, do this before Friday, Oct. 9 at 9 p.m. ET. via milConnect.
