Milestone Monday✨
Each week, we’ll be sharing important developmental milestones to help families learn what to expect, and when to act early if needed.
Learn the signs. Act early.
From birth to age 5, your child should reach milestones in how he or she plays, learns, speaks, acts, and moves.
Through our partnership with the CDC, OAC is excited to share information on milestones for your child at various ages.
Did you know that around 9 months old, many babies begin smiling or laughing during games like peek-a-boo?
This simple game is more than just fun-it helps babies develop important social and emotional skills. When your baby anticipates your return and responds with smiles or laughter, they’re learning about social interaction, connection, and communication.
Peek-a-boo also helps build:
💙Social engagement
💙Emotional connection
💙Anticipation and attention skills
💙Early communication development
Each child develops at their own pace, but celebrating these milestones can help you better understand your child’s growth and development. 🫶🏻
You know your baby best! Be sure to track your child’s development!
