✨ Volunteer Spotlight: Kelsey Cary! ✨

Meet Kelsey, who is so many things to us at Wings! She is a kind sounding board for our Members in our Grief Therapy program, a fundraiser on our Young Professional Board, and a dance instructor for our Members getting ready for a BIG performance this Friday at Wingin’ It (seriously, you’ll love it!)

We are so thankful for the calm, consistent presence Kelsey provides for our Members as they walk through hard moments, laugh through conquering new dance moves and all the moments in between. Kelsey is a true friend to our Members, and the joy she has for serving them in so many capacities is a blessing to our entire community!

A local nonprofit that offers a day program for adults with developmental disabilities is celebrating major expansions, it told News 9 on Saturday.

Wings said it will host a fall festival during the first three weekends in October. There will be a pumpkin patch, inflatables and a petting zoo. Anyone can stop by or volunteer their time.

Through a growing partnership with Wings A Special Needs Community, YMCA members are being welcomed with a little extra joy when they walk through our doors.

Wings participants serve as facility greeters, gaining valuable workplace experience, building confidence, and strengthening social connections while creating meaningful interactions with YMCA members and staff.

We're grateful for this partnership and the reminder that a strong community is one where everyone has the opportunity to contribute, connect, and belong. ✨

📍 Say hello to our Wings greeters at the Mitch Park YMCA - YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City Y on Mondays from 10 a.m. to noon and the Side YMCA - YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City on Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m.
