Juneteenth represents an important moment in American history: the end of slavery and the pursuit of freedom and justice for Black Americans. The holiday has particular significance in Black communities, but it can have meaning for people of all backgrounds. Learning more about Juneteenth enhances understanding of the various experiences that contributed to the country of today.

This Juneteenth we invite you to learn about Black Americans’ fight for freedom, listen to their stories and reflect on their sacrifices. Consider the freedoms all Americans enjoy because of the service of our country’s heroes.
