Our goal is for children and families who visit us to feel at home. We know that a hospital can be a scary place for a young child. So we’ve gone above and beyond to create a care center that is friendly and perhaps even a little fun. At AdventHealth for Children we have made it our purpose to provide your family with the most advanced pediatric medical services built on the foundation of treating

all our patients as if they were are own. With more then 140 pediatric specialists practicing in 35 specialties dedicated to healing children, we have built a connected network of 28 trusted locations from Urgent Cares to Emergency Rooms and from Specialty Clinics to NICUs. We appreciate and encourage the conversations and perspectives shared by the diverse AdventHealth online community. To ensure this space is safe and welcoming, all visitors are expected to adhere to our community standards, which you can review here: https://www.adventhealth.com/adventhealth-community-standards. Please be advised that any inappropriate, offensive, or hateful comments will be removed by AdventHealth.

When Gideon was born, his family suddenly found themselves navigating Apert syndrome, a diagnosis they had never expected. In that overwhelming moment, Dr. Lopez and the care team brought calm, clarity and compassion to every step.

Gideon’s story is a reminder that expert care is about helping families feel supported, informed and hopeful through uncertainty. Today, he continues working with Dr. Irwin on his hands, with a network of care guiding his family through each new chapter.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our 2026 Backpacks for Kids campaign a success. Through our partnership with Tools 4 Seminole Schools, we came together to support local students and team member families with backpacks and school supplies so children could start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

We are grateful for the generosity, care and teamwork that helped make a meaningful difference in our communities.

The first week of school doesn't have to feel like a race against the clock. ⏱️🎒

Dr. Chloe Barry, our Pediatric and Adolescent Psychologist, recommends turning the morning routine into a game before the first day of school. Set a timer and challenge your child to see how quickly they can get dressed, brush their teeth, pack their backpack and make it to the door.

A little practice now can build confidence, ease first-day jitters and help busy school mornings feel a whole lot smoother when the bell rings.

For children living with Apert syndrome, care works best when it is coordinated and centered on the whole child. Dr. Timothy Irwin and Dr. Raj Sawh-Martinez recently sat down to discuss how we bring pediatric hand surgery and craniomaxillofacial expertise together to help families feel supported every step of the way.
