Our goal is for children and families who visit us to feel at home. We know that a hospital can be a scary place for a young child. So we’ve gone above and beyond to create a care center that is friendly and perhaps even a little fun. At AdventHealth for Children we have made it our purpose to provide your family with the most advanced pediatric medical services built on the foundation of treating

all our patients as if they were are own. With more then 140 pediatric specialists practicing in 35 specialties dedicated to healing children, we have built a connected network of 28 trusted locations from Urgent Cares to Emergency Rooms and from Specialty Clinics to NICUs. We appreciate and encourage the conversations and perspectives shared by the diverse AdventHealth online community. To ensure this space is safe and welcoming, all visitors are expected to adhere to our community standards, which you can review here: https://www.adventhealth.com/adventhealth-community-standards. Please be advised that any inappropriate, offensive, or hateful comments will be removed by AdventHealth.

Our nurses help create a compassionate place where every child feels seen, supported and well cared for.

AdventHealth for Children's first Magnet with Distinction and fourth Magnet designation is one more sign of that commitment. It reflects the care children and families experience every day, and it supports the learning and growth of our nurses as they continue to deliver whole-person care.

Beach days + pool fun = unforgettable memories ☀️

Make the most of every splash, sandcastle and sunny adventure by helping protect your child’s skin from UV rays. Simple steps like applying sunscreen, wearing protective clothing and taking breaks in the shade can help keep them safe and healthy all summer long.

Our patients and families inspire us every day to deliver compassionate, expert care. Today, that commitment is recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, which has designated AdventHealth for Children as a Magnet with Distinction organization for the first time, marking our fourth Magnet designation overall.

For patients and families, Magnet recognition means care from nurses who bring their best to every moment. For nurses, it supports education, growth and greater autonomy at the bedside.

For families spending time near the water, strong swimming skills are an important part of keeping kids safe and helping prevent drowning. To build safe habits, pediatricians recommend children begin swimming lessons as early as age 1.

Survival swim lessons should teach children how to safely reach the surface, move toward safety and exit the water independently. Alongside close adult supervision, pool fences and life jackets, swimming skills can help children feel more confident in the water while giving parents added peace of mind.

A calling can change the course of a life, and in Angie’s case, it brings comfort and reassurance to families during some of their most vulnerable moments.

As a NICU nurse, Angie cares for some of the tiniest patients with compassion that extends far beyond clinical care. As a Spiritual Ambassador, she also supports families and fellow team members, helping foster connection, hope and peace throughout the unit.

We’re grateful for caregivers like Angie who help newborns and their loved ones feel supported, comforted and never alone.

Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death for children ages 1–4, and it often happens when you least expect it.

Prevention is key. Hear from pediatrician, Dr. Giselle Hernandez, who shares layers of protection—like barriers, supervision, and early swim readiness—that can significantly reduce risk.

We’re here to support your child’s safety and wellbeing so they can grow and thrive.

For our team members, the names on their heart badges are daily reminders of the people who taught them how to care for others with kindness, strength and compassion.

This Mother’s Day, we’re grateful for the women who continue to shape the way we care for every patient and family, offering comfort, connection and support when it matters most. 💙
