Mental health care should be accessible, compassionate and available in the language people are most comfortable speaking.

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is proud to offer our Spanish-Speaking Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), providing culturally responsive behavioral health services for adults seeking support while maintaining their daily responsibilities at home, work and in the community.

Our Spanish IOP offers a supportive environment where individuals can build coping skills, strengthen recovery, improve emotional wellness and connect with others who understand their journey—all in Spanish and led by experienced behavioral health professionals.

Whether someone is struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders or substance use challenges, help is available.

At Central Florida Behavioral Hospital, we believe that healing begins with connection, understanding and hope.

At Central Florida Behavioral Hospital, we believe that healing extends far beyond the walls of our hospital. Every day, our team members make a difference not only in the lives of our patients, but throughout the communities we proudly serve.

Today, we want to recognize one of our own, Phil Pollen.

After a distinguished career with the Clermont Police Department, Phil retired from law enforcement and joined the Central Florida Behavioral Hospital family last year, bringing with him a deep passion for helping others and a commitment to serving those facing life's most difficult challenges.

That passion for service continues today. Phil has recently joined the Windermere Police Department as a Reserve Officer, where he will continue to educate, inspire and support members of our community with the compassion, integrity and understanding that have defined his career.

With his unique experience in both behavioral healthcare and law enforcement, Phil is playing a key role in strengthening partnerships between first responders and mental health professionals. These collaborations help create better access to care, better treatment outcomes and better support for individuals and families experiencing mental health crises.

We are incredibly proud to have Phil as part of our team and grateful for his continued dedication to making our community safer, healthier and stronger.

Thank you, Phil, for your service, your leadership, and your unwavering commitment to helping others.

Mental health challenges often begin earlier than many people realize. In fact, nearly 50% of all mental health conditions begin by age 14. That’s why early intervention, compassionate care and specialized support matter so much.

At Central Florida Behavioral Hospital, we are proud to offer Central Florida’s only dedicated children’s inpatient behavioral health unit for children ages 5–11, along with specialized adolescent programs designed separately for boys and girls to provide focused, age-appropriate care in a safe and supportive environment.

Our experienced team of child-focused behavioral health professionals — including nurses, therapists, behavioral health technicians, psychiatrists and support staff — are deeply committed to helping children and families heal, grow and rediscover hope.

Our programs incorporate evidence-based treatment alongside therapeutic approaches that help children express emotions, build confidence and reconnect with joy, including:
🎨 Art Therapy
🎵 Music Therapy
🐾 Pet Therapy

Every child deserves the chance to feel safe, understood, supported, and hopeful about their future.

If your child is struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral challenges, emotional distress or thoughts of self-harm — don’t wait. Help is available, and healing is possible.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

Mental health doesn’t impact 1 in 5 people—it impacts 5 in 5. Every one of us will face challenges at some point in our lives. Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, anxiety, depression, trauma, overwhelming stress or another life-changing event, mental health touches us all.

That’s why awareness matters. Awareness helps break the stigma. Awareness encourages conversations. And awareness is often the first step toward seeking help and beginning the journey toward healing.

At Central Florida Behavioral Hospital, we believe asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Our compassionate, trauma-informed team is dedicated to meeting every patient with dignity, empathy and understanding—helping individuals and families find hope, healing and recovery.

You are not alone. Help is available. Recovery is possible.
