We wanted to take a moment to highlight our community sponsor AdventHealth ✨💙 Due to their continuous support in our programming and bringing us into their community health plan, we have been able to dedicate two horses in their honor 🐴

Thanks to their generous support, Chi has been officially adopted by us & currently resides at our Lake County location where he sees clients & completes good manners training!

At our Volusia County location, their support officially sponsors Blu, and we are able to assist in providing hay, feed, and any other necessities she may need as she continues to be a client favorite therapy horse 🤎

We have so much gratitude & can’t wait to see how their impact will continue to help us grow and help heal our communities.

Our founder, Jessica Straughn, recently attended the monthly Board of Directors meeting for Life Reins, Inc., . As a Life Reins board member—and as Supportive Counseling, LLC continues its involvement as a founding member—Jessica is honored to help support the organization’s growth, outreach, and mission.

Life Reins creates opportunities for healing, confidence, connection, and resilience through equine-assisted programs. These board meetings provide important time to collaborate, plan upcoming initiatives, and explore how the organization can continue responding to the needs of individuals and families in our Central Florida community.

We are grateful to contribute to work that reflects our shared belief that healing can happen through many meaningful experiences, relationships, and supportive spaces.

During a recent Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy session, some of our horses became living canvases as clients used pain with symbols and images to represent pieces of their journey.

In EFP, the goal isn’t to create something “perfect.” It’s about the process — choosing what to express, deciding where it belongs, noticing what comes up along the way, and experiencing that expression alongside a safe, nonjudgmental equine partner.

And, as always, our horses’ comfort and choice are part of the process too. 🐴

💙 STAND FOR HER: How Men Can Disrupt Exploitation & Trafficking

Life Reins is proud to collaborate with the Central Florida Human Trafficking Taskforce Outreach Committee to bring this important conversation to our community.

On September 24th, we’re inviting men across Central Florida to come together for a powerful Men’s Empowerment Luncheon focused on the role men can play in disrupting exploitation, challenging harmful systems, and becoming part of the solution to human trafficking.

🎙️ Featuring an expert panel of men discussing how men can use their voices, influence, and actions to help create safer communities.

Life Reins turned TWO! 🎉

Two years ago, Life Reins was built on a simple belief: healing happens through connection.

Over the last two years, we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside children, teens, adults, survivors, first responders, and families as they discovered hope, resilience, and healing—one step, one breath, and one horse at a time.

What started as a dream has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined. We’ve watched confidence bloom, trauma begin to heal, communities come together, and horses change lives in ways words can hardly describe.

None of this would be possible without all of you.

To every client who trusted us with your story, every volunteer who gave your time, every donor who believed in our mission, every community partner who stood beside us, and every supporter who has cheered us on—thank you. You are part of this journey.

As we celebrate two years, we’re reminded that this is only the beginning. We have big dreams for the future, more lives to touch, and many more stories waiting to unfold.
