Jeanne Eileen Trionfero, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones after a fierce battle with brain cancer on Thursday September 3, 2026. A lifelong resident of Oswego, Jeanne was the daughter of the late Santo and Catherine “Emma” Grasso. She graduated from St. Paul’s Academy, Oswego Catholic High School and SUNY Oswego, taking great pride in being an alumna of each. An educator who loved lifting up children much of her life, beginning her career at Oswego County BOCES and retiring from Oswego High School, she worked at Grant’s, JC Penney and Valti Graphics through the years as well. Jeanne married Marshall Trionfero in August of 1973, many years after first meeting him in kindergarten, and they started their family (and 50+ year marriage!) First came Mara, then Michele, then Marcello, who each exude Jeanne’s essence and spirit in their own unique ways. An avid reader, Jeanne also enjoyed traveling on adventures great and small with her family, friends, and the Granby Seniors. Each Christmas, her many varieties of festive Italian cookies were enjoyed by family, friends, colleagues, neighbors and anyone who seemed like they might need a little cookie to cheer them up. In all spheres of her life, she enthusiastically showed kindness and compassion, with a signature side of sass. She is survived by her husband, Marshall, their three children, Mara (Jamie) Trionfero Lucas of South Bend, IN, Michele (Jason) Meltzer of Rocky Hill, CT and Marcello (Marie) Trionfero of Oswego; her sister Margaret (Gary) Bower and brother Philip (Toni) Grasso; brothers in law Joseph (Denise) Trionfero, Kenneth (Debbie) Trionfero, sister in law Rosanne (Fred) Maxon, grandson Jackson Lucas, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to list. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Robert Grasso. The family would especially like to thank Jeanne’s caregivers both at Upstate Cancer Center and Morningstar Residential Care Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Christ the Good Shepherd Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Calling hours will conducted from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Tuesday at Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th. St Oswego. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages honoring Jeanne through donations to the Oswego Chapter of Blessings in a Backpack.

Dolores A. Smith, 77, of Oswego died peacefully at home with her family by her side Saturday August 29, 2026. Mrs. Smith was born in Jersey City, New Jersey the daughter of the late Roy and Elizabeth (Tohoskey) Haase. Mrs. Smith worked for Oswego County Opportunities, as the house leader, and caregiver to the adult residents. After work she always enjoyed coming home spending time and relaxing with her own family. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her husband James Smith, her daughter Laura Strausburg, and siblings Diane Drew and Michael Haase. Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving children John Wetzel III of Oswego, Patricia Mateer of Oswego, and Roy (Theresa) Wetzel of Fulton. She is also survived by her brother Roy (Drew) Haase of Washington State, sisters Ronnie Haase of Washington DC and Cathy Haase, and her 18 beloved grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. June Vescio Johnston, 92; of Fulton, NY passed after a short illness Tuesday August 25th, 2026, in the early morning at Oswego Hospital, Oswego, NY. June was born in Fulton, NY to the late Angelo and Rosina (Crai) Vescio. She remained a resident of Fulton, NY for most of her life. In 1994, June retired after a 27-year career from SUNY College at Oswego, NY where she was the Director of Publications and Printing. She was a member of the United University Professions, the Fulton Women’s Club and ABWA: American Business Woman’s Association. June was also a member and volunteer with the Oswego County Historical Society, A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a former trustee and volunteer for Person-to-Person Advocacy, Fulton. Her passion was cooking. Many family and friends benefited from the wonderful dishes she shared. June was pre-deceased by her husband of 32 years: Richard Johnston in 2008. She was the last remaining child of Angelo and Rosina having been pre-deceased by her siblings: Carmen, Tony, Frank, Philip, Angelo “Ace,” Peter, Joseph and Sam Vescio and Angelina Talamo, Eleanor McGraw and Rose Clark. Mrs. Johnston is survived by her godson: Nathan (Bianca) Stoughtenger, her brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert Johnston and Jerry (Joyce) Johnston and Nancy (Jimmy) Boyd; her very dear friend Cathy Trowbridge, special caretakers: Lori Clark and Kim Becker and several nieces and nephews. A private Graveside Service and Burial was held in the morning, Saturday, August 29th, 2026; at Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY with Pastor Bill Ormsby of the Fulton Christian Fellowship Church, Fulton officiating. There were no Calling Hours. The Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton has care of the arrangements. Maureen F. Tucker, 94; of Oswego, NY, died Sunday, July 19th, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her family. “Our Angel Lady Got Her Wings.” Mrs. Tucker was born in Oswego, NY to the late John and Helen (Tobin) Fitzgerald. She remained a lifetime resident of Oswego and enjoyed wintering in Fort Myers Beach, Florida for over 40 years. Mrs. Tucker began working as a young girl at Barbeau Photography, Oswego. She was a secretary at the F.W. Tucker & Son, Oswego. Mrs. Tucker was an active communicant for decades at St. Mary’s Church, Oswego, and a member of the St. Mary’s Sodality Women Organization, a past member of the Oswego Catholic High School Board and a member of the Oswego Country Club. She enjoyed spending summers at the family camp at Ramona Beach on Lake Ontario, NY and spending time with her friends in NY and Fort Myers Beach, FL during the winter months. Mrs. Tucker was a fantastic card player enjoyed games like Bridge, Michigan Rummy, Dominoes, Spite and Malice. Mrs. Tucker’s favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family. Family was her priority. Maureen was pre-deceased by her husband Edward Tucker Sr. in 1991 and their infant daughter. Mrs. Tucker is survived by her children: Edward (Mary Anne) Tucker Jr. of Oswego and Mary Helen Clark of Cicero, NY; her 7 grandchildren: Susan (David) Kramer, Jennifer (Charlie) Tucker Locke, Michelle Clark, Katie Clark, Edward (Sara) Tucker, Steven Clark and Paul (Allie Glassman) Clark; her 6 great grandchildren: Daniel Kramer, Jason Kramer, Charlotte Locke, Tucker Locke, Casey Locke and Olivia Tucker and several generations of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tucker was also pre-deceased by her siblings: Jack Fitzgerald, Ann Jones and Patricia K***z. Calling hours will be Saturday morning September 5, 2026 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th St Oswego. Funeral services will be Saturday Sept.5 at 10:00 AM in Christ the Good Shepherd, Oswego. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Oswego, NY. Maureen will always be remembered as a very kind and caring person. She was always the first one to greet you with a smile or ask if you needed anything, and after that they became lifelong friends. She was always there for her friends or anyone who needed help. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Diabetes Foundation.

Stanley H. Pawline, 81, of Fulton died Monday August 17, 2026 at the Oswego Hospital. He was born in Oswego the son of the late Stanley F. and Rachel A. (Bradford) Pawline. Stanley was a supervisor at Alltel, Fulton for many years before his retirement. He served in the United States Air Force, and was a member of the Pathfinder Fish & Game Club, Fulton, where he enjoyed practicing at the firing range. Stanley is survived by his wife of 25 years Barbara (Blake) Pawline of Fulton, his son Dana Pawline of NC and his stepchildren Dean Preston, Dennis Preston, Darren Preston, Rebecca Erb, Gary Scerbo, Matthew Labonoski, and several grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will be private. The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton.

Arthur R. Hager, 74, of Fulton died Monday August 17, 2026 at the Oswego Hospital. Mr. Hager was born in Cornwall, NY the son of the late Arthur T. and Joan A. (Barrett) Hager. He was a jack of all working as a mechanic, laborer, cook and baker at many different places. Mr. Hager for enjoyment would make model cars, and work around his trailer. He was predeceased by his son Arthur T. Hager II in 2011, and his sister Darlene Palmer. Mr. Hager is survived by his wife of 48 years Kathleen Hager of Fulton and their children Raymond T. Hager of Fulton, and Kathleen (Matthew) Lischak of Fulton. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ashley, Haley, Aaliyah, Amber, Harmony, Vardon IV, Raymond T., and Arthur T. III. Calling Hours will be held Friday from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton, NY. Burial will be Monday 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.

Lillian A. (Morrison) DeVine, 97; of Cardiff, NY peacefully joined her husband, children and granddaughter Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones. Lillian retired from Aneron Microwave after a long employment. During her employment, she became the first female union president. Lillian always involved herself with activities that made lasting impressions on family and friends. She enjoyed and took great pride in seeing the joy on someone’s face when she presented a hand sewn quilt. Lillian is survived by one son-in-law, seven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and many “great greats.” In accordance with Lillian’s wishes there will be no Calling Hours or Funeral Service. Teddy James Straight, 51, of Oswego died Friday July 31, 2026, at University Hospital, Syracuse after a courageous battle, with pancreatic cancer. Teddy was born in Oswego the son of the late Kathleen Sweet Straight, and Edward Straight of Oswego. He was the head chef at Wade’s Diner for fourteen years, before becoming ill. He loved cooking, all the friendly conversation, joking and laughing with all the patrons, most knew him by name. Ted enjoyed spending time with his wife Tracy vacationing on cruises, road trips, and he enjoyed gambling. Ted is survived by his loving wife Tracy Straight of Oswego, his father Edward Straight of Oswego, his stepdaughters Brittany Bartlett of New Haven; London Bartlett of New Haven; and his grandsons Logan, Liam and Jaxson. He is also survived by his sisters Heather (Mike) Johnson of Mexico; Sarah (Royal) Straight of Mexico; Kristina Kennedy of Oswego; his brother Joe (Heather) Straight of Oswego, and his nieces, nephews, and cousins. In staying with Teddy’s wishes there will be no services. The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 W. 4th St. Oswego.

Dominick J. “Dom” Busch, 19; of Oswego, NY; passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 26, 2026; after unfortunately sustaining life-threatening injuries from a motor vehicle accident in Volney, NY. Dominick was born in Oswego, NY. He had been a former resident of Woodridge, NY and he resided in Oswego County for most of his life. Dominick was a graduate of G’Ray Bodley High School, Fulton, NY. He was past employed with Par-K, Fulton and Goodyear, Oswego, NY. Most recently, Dominick was working with Door Dash. He was quite talented at fixing just about anything with a motor and especially enjoyed working on cars and ATVs. Dominick was a good friend to many and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his mother: Sarah E. Busch, and great grandmothers: Mary Busch and Mary Meyer. Dominick is survived by his loving maternal grandparents: Paul and Patricia Busch of Oswego, NY; his father: Kenneth (Amanda) McManus of Woodridge, NY; his siblings: Giuliana Busch of Oswego, NY; Conner McManus, Brianna McManus and Elizabeth McManus all of Woodridge, NY; his paternal grandparents: Kenneth McManus and Mary Solazzo both of Oswego, NY; his aunts: Jennifer (Doug) Paro of Fulton, NY and Danielle Busch of Oswego, NY and several cousins great aunts and great uncles.
