Knee pain with lunges? Watch this

Right knee pain with lunges? SoftWave shockwave therapy may be able to help.

At Dynamic Ability Physical Therapy, we help active adults, athletes, runners, golfers, parents, and people in pain move better, feel stronger, and get back to the activities they enjoy.

This patient came in with right knee pain during a lunge, so we tested the painful movement first. Then we used SoftWave therapy, a non-invasive form of shockwave therapy, and retested the exact same lunge after treatment.

After treatment, he reported no pain with the same lunge.

If you are dealing with knee pain, joint pain, sports injuries, pain with squats, pain with lunges, running pain, or pain that keeps coming back, this may be worth checking out.

We’re currently offering a SoftWave Group Trial at Dynamic Ability Physical Therapy for the next 30 days. This is the lowest price we’ll be offering for 4 SoftWave treatments.

This is one of the best lectures I’ve seen on the history of shockwave therapy.

Dr. Wolfgang Schaden explains how shockwave moved beyond kidney stones and into orthopedic healing, non-healing fractures, wounds, and tissue regeneration. What he did for the field is incredible.

The timing is exciting because I’ll have SoftWave technology available next week at Dynamic Ability Physical Therapy.

I have a small group of patients doing 4 treatments for the price of 1 treatment while I bring the device in for a short trial and evaluate how people respond.

I’m not promising a cure, but I’m excited to learn more, track results, and see what this technology can do for stubborn pain and injuries.

Full credit to Dr. Wolfgang Schaden, Dr. Matt DiDuro, John Warlick, and SoftWave.

Most people think of physical therapy for back pain, shoulder pain, or knee injuries. But I also treat TMJ disorders.

A few weeks ago, I worked with someone who had been dealing with jaw clicking and TMJ symptoms for a long time. During our first visit, we were able to noticeably reduce the clicking and improve her symptoms in about 15 minutes.

Every case is different, and not everyone responds that quickly, but many TMJ problems are influenced by the muscles and joints of the jaw, neck, and surrounding areas.

If you’re experiencing jaw clicking, jaw pain, headaches, neck pain, or difficulty chewing, physical therapy may be able to help.

Groin pain update after the 2nd SoftWave treatment.

This was something he had been dealing with for 5 years and hadn’t been able to fully get rid of.

After the first treatment, we saw a big improvement in both pain and strength testing. On the 2nd week, we re-tested before treatment and he was still holding about a 30-pound strength improvement compared to where he started.

But this time after the 2nd SoftWave treatment… there was no immediate improvement in pain.

So now the question becomes:
Was the first response placebo?
Or is there something else contributing that still needs to be addressed… like pelvic floor involvement, hip mechanics, abdominal wall, adductors, load management, etc.?

Unfortunately, he’s not interested in continuing to dig into it further right now because the symptoms aren’t severe enough for him to want to keep spending money trying different approaches.

Honestly, that’s real life sometimes.

Not every patient is desperate enough to keep chasing answers, especially when the pain becomes more of an annoyance than something truly limiting.

But I still think cases like this are interesting because they raise important questions about who responds to treatment, why they respond, and what other factors may need to be addressed when symptoms have been around for years.

I’m almost done filling the first group for the 30-day SoftWave trial:
4 treatments for the cost of 1.

The more people interested, the lower I may be able to keep the pricing moving forward while I continue tracking outcomes and seeing who responds best.

If you’ve been dealing with stubborn pain that hasn’t improved with the usual approaches, send me a message.

First SoftWave treatment for plantar fasciitis after 2–3 years of foot pain.

This patient has been dealing with stubborn plantar fasciitis for a long time, so we’re trying SoftWave as part of a short trial to see how they respond over a series of treatments.

The goal is not to pretend this is a magic fix.

The goal is to see how real people with real chronic pain respond when they get more than just one quick demo treatment.

I’m currently putting together a small 30-day SoftWave trial group for people dealing with stubborn pain issues like plantar fasciitis, tendon pain, chronic muscle/joint pain, or symptoms that just haven’t fully gone away.

For this trial, you get:

4 SoftWave treatments
for the cost of 1 treatment

I’m doing this so I can gather real feedback, see how people respond over a series of treatments, and make it affordable for people who are seriously interested in trying it.

Spots will be limited because I have to coordinate the device rental and treatment times.

Message me “SOFTWAVE” if you want details or want to see if you’d be a good fit.

He quit doing pull-ups for a while because his shoulder was bothering him.

So we used dry needling as part of his shoulder treatment to help calm things down, improve mobility, and get him moving better again.

The goal wasn’t just to treat pain.

The goal was to help him get back to something he actually wants to do: pull-ups.

Less pain is great. Better function is the win.

Did I complete the full Murph?

Nope.

Did I still get smoked?

Absolutely.

Modified Murph today:

1 mile run
10 rounds of:
10 push-ups
10 squats
10 pull-ups
Then another 1 mile run

Sometimes the best version of a workout is the one that challenges you without crushing you.

Modify it. Scale it. Keep moving.
