🦋 Keep an eye out, Owasso—monarchs could be passing through!

Each fall, monarch butterflies make an incredible journey south toward their wintering grounds in Mexico. Oklahoma lies along a major migration route, giving us a chance to witness a small part of something remarkable.

Our area’s usual peak is late September into the end of October, though some travelers may pass through later as weather allows.

For many of us, seeing a butterfly also brings a comforting memory of someone we miss. If one crosses your path, perhaps take a moment to remember their laugh, share their story, or simply smile.
