DAY 18 OF OUR 30-DAY COMMUNITY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Today marks 25 years since the September 11 attacks. We remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who responded, and recognize the families, survivors, first responders, and communities whose lives were forever changed.
As we remember this tragedy, it is also important to recognize the lasting impact that traumatic events can have on mental health.
Trauma and significant loss can affect people differently. For some, events like 9/11 may contribute to feelings of grief, anxiety, fear, sadness, difficulty sleeping, trouble concentrating, or a decreased sense of safety. Anniversaries, news coverage, photographs, or personal memories can sometimes bring those emotions back, even many years later.
π Mental health is part of the conversation.
β€οΈ It's okay to grieve.
π It's okay to ask for support.
π It's okay if you're not okay.
At LEAP Services, we believe in building a community where people feel supported rather than judged and where individuals living with mental health challenges know that resources and support are available.
A SIMPLE SHARE CAN GO A LONG WAY!
If you know someone struggling with their mental health or someone who needs help finding resources, please share this post. You never know who may see it at exactly the moment they need it.
Today we remember. Today we honor. And together, we continue supporting one another.
Together, we can LEAP forward.πΈ
