Today we loaded up a small group and headed to the Kentucky State Fair for a day full of fun, laughter, good food, and making memories! 🎟️🍦🎠

Everyone enjoyed exploring the fairgrounds sights, sounds, and treats 🍁 Our crew had an absolute BLAST! ❤️

We love creating opportunities for our clients to get out into the community, try new things, make choices, and simply enjoy life alongside everyone else. Because everyone deserves to enjoy life—and everyone deserves a little fairground fun! 🥰

Our amazing clients have been hard at work creating these adorable handmade pencil cups — and now they’re ready to share them with our community! 🥰

There’s NO SET PRICE. These are available by donation, so any amount is appreciated! Every donation goes directly toward helping our clients reach their goal of paying for an ice cream outing at the end of August. 🍦🎉

It’s more than just a pencil cup — it’s an opportunity for our clients to practice creativity, teamwork, independence, and entrepreneurship while working toward something FUN together! ❤️

🍳 Cooking Up Confidence, One Skill at a Time! 💚

One of our Daily Living Skills groups, led by our amazing DSP Quinten, has been focusing on learning how to prepare eggs in a variety of ways. Eggs are a great food to practice with because they’re affordable, easy to find, nutritious, and incredibly versatile.

Today, the group took over the kitchen and created their own personalized breakfast scramble skillets! Everyone had the opportunity to make their meal exactly the way they wanted, choosing from toppings like sausage, ham, peppers, mushrooms, onions, and cheese. From cracking eggs to cooking, seasoning, and making choices about their own meal, each participant built valuable skills while creating something they were proud of.

Learning daily living skills is about so much more than cooking. It’s about building confidence, increasing independence, making choices, following directions, practicing safety, and discovering what you’re capable of.

We are so proud of every person who participated today! Their smiles, creativity, and willingness to try something new made this a wonderful day in the kitchen.
