RECURVE lost one of its people. 💔
For the last 9 years, Cheryl would stroll in weekly, recounting stories of her life since her prior visit. The subjects varied: women’s basketball games, wildlife rescue fiascos, and trips to Washington Island, Wisconsin, where she and her amazing wife, Michaelene, shared a second home. Whatever the subject, though, we were always laughing by the end.
She was the person who would yell “OW!” on the adjusting table if there was a new patient within earshot she could scare. She would send me happy birthday videos bragging that she was having a beer on vacation while I was working.
She was the very best and contrary to popular belief my favorite part about Cheryl was actually not her fascinating spine (which stumped me at every turn), but her heart. Cheryl had a way of making everyone feel like HER people.
Michaelene used to say that RECURVE was her “Cheers” … where everyone knew her name. So, in lieu of a bar stool, we dedicate this traction unit to her memory. Cheryl sat on this stool more than anyone, and it will forever be hers.
RIP, dear friend. Your spine is perfect now. 🕊️
