Your head weighs roughly 10–12 pounds—but as it moves forward, the mechanical demand on your neck can increase by an additional 10–20 pounds or more. 🤯
That doesn’t mean there is one “perfect” posture you must maintain all day. The bigger problem is staying in the same forward-head position for hours at a time.
A few simple desk adjustments can help:
âś… Raise your monitor closer to eye level
âś… Bring the screen toward you instead of leaning toward it
âś… Keep your keyboard and mouse within easy reach
âś… Sit with your feet supported
âś… Change positions and take movement breaks throughout the day
If your neck still feels tight, stiff, or painful despite adjusting your workspace, we can evaluate how your neck, upper back, shoulders, and breathing mechanics are contributing—and build a plan that addresses the real cause.
