Penn Plastic Surgery had a strong showing at this year’s American Hernia Society Meeting in Denver, Colorado 🏔️
Dr. Fischer moderated the session Patient-Reported Outcomes and Quality of Life in Hernia Repair and presented on the development and validation of the Abdominal Hernia-Q. Former research fellow, Maggie Hornick also presented Listening Louder: Using Patient-Reported Outcomes to Guide Care, highlighting the important role of patient perspectives in hernia treatment and recovery. Meetings like the American Hernia Society provide valuable opportunities to collaborate across specialties, share new research, and advance the care of patients with abdominal wall hernias.

The morning also included a celebration of our Program Director, Dr. Fosnot, and his birthday! 🎂

This past Sunday, our division came together for the annual summer BBQ hosted by the Serlettis! ☀️

A great afternoon of food, fun, and time together outside the hospital. Grateful for the people who make Penn Plastic Surgery a special place!

We were honored to have Dr. David Chang from the University of Chicago as the annual AAPS visiting professor. Dr. Chang delivered an outstanding and comprehensive lecture on lymphatic surgery. He is truly one of the pioneers in lymphatic surgery and shared with us his incredible depth of experience. Penn Plastic Surgery was absolutely honored to have him as the AAPS visiting professor.
