You still need six more permissions for the chapter you did not choose.

A layoff takes your job and it also takes the shape of your week. It takes the version of you who had a clean answer ready when someone asked what do you do. That loss is real and deserves room.

Most of these permissions are ones you would hand a friend in a second. You are allowed to keep one for yourself.

You read it, you feel understood for a minute, and then you go back to performing for whoever is watching.

Pick one permission, the one you are least willing to give yourself, and keep it for a week.

Which one are you gifting to yourself?

You made the decision at 2am more times than you can count.

👋🏾 I’m Saida. A beautiful work in progress as I work on progress.

Some seasons ask more of us than we planned for. I know the overwhelm that arrives in the middle of parenting, in the middle of a career, in the middle of a life you built on purpose and still feel unsure of. I have sat with my own overindulgence and overstimulation while trying to stay present for the people who need me most.

I have learned to protect my energy while staying open to God’s will.

I value kindness, exploration, learning and honesty, and I bring every one of them into the room with you.

Recovering from heartbreak ❤️‍🩹 this World Cup season. Sorrows, sorrows, prayers!

Sat next to a few refs at the last watch party. Brought me back to soccer memory days. If anyone has the joy of soccer and no longer playing, seriously look into becoming a ref.

They reminded me that the game especially needs more inclusive refs. We can get (re)licensed together!

You can see that VAR only does so much good or unnecessary evil 😆 I put in my time back in the day but only left because youth parents were too intense for my short lived venture as a teenage ref.

Clearly have lived so many lives these past 40 years. Anyways, excited for Women’s World Cup and Morocco🇲🇦 2030.

I don’t have it all figured out, but this is me trying.
Grateful to support friends as we show progress together.
Different phases of my life consider the guidance of others.

These past few weeks, have focused on pouring energy into others who have a dream and are doing something about it. No one said it was easy, even when you know what you want to bring out into the world. I’m just saying it’s possible. Here for you whether you know what your dream is or not. 💭

I recently shared my story on hormone therapy for perimenopause. It was a day of thanks for my trusted provider at 🩺 Sibelle MedSpa and her awesome team that keeps me going. None of us can be the best version of ourselves without a team in place.

A girls’ night out at the Philly Wine and Dine event gave me space for growth. I’m excited to backup my nutrition wellness plan with the help of a wonderful dietician at 🫶🏾 Mieux by Ashley. We even chatted about my options for recurring visibility which pushed me to open my Google and Yelp pages.

Now when you look up avec an s on Google Maps or Yelp, you’ll also find a few cool images from ♥️ shots by Millette. Another beautiful human I am grateful to call sister. Her vibrancy for life and creativity is on a higher level.

All this to say even though my clients know I’m a one woman show, this LLC S corp is stronger with a community that builds the foundation for different parts of my life. Will add more on supportive friend stories in the rotation.

It’s no secret. “I’m fine” is the most expensive phrase in your vocabulary.

You say it when you’re too drained to unpack the heaviness of your endless tasks, surviving on four hours of sleep and three cups of coffee, barely remembering what good even feels like.

When you live in fine for too long, you start paying a hidden tax in survival mode.

With your presence, you’re physically there at dinner but your mind is in another world. With your body, there’s tension in your shoulders looking for a way out. With your joy, you’re so good at numbing the stress that you’ve accidentally numbed excitement.

Mindfulness won’t add to your to do list. It’s auditing these hidden costs and realizing you don’t have to be in a crisis to deserve a better life. You don’t have to wait for a burnout or breakdown to give yourself permission to breathe.

Let’s practice a no fine check in today. If you couldn’t use the word “fine” how would you actually describe your energy level right now?
