After a shoulder injury, Brian's left labrum needed to be repaired. He spent months trying non-operative treatments before ultimately undergoing surgery and rehabilitation at our Orthopedic Center. Brian was able to get back to the sport he loves — earning a spot on his college track and field team as a shot putter.

As the FIFA World Cup comes to a close, we're cheering on another inspiring journey — helping young athletes return to the sports they love.

After tearing his ACL and meniscus, 13-year-old soccer player Matthew had surgery with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Theodore Ganley and has been working hard with our team throughout his recovery, reaching milestones every step of the way.

His mom, Tracy, shares: "Everyone at CHOP has been so helpful. The compassion, patience and kindness we've experienced have been top-notch."

A player for Philadelphia Union's Player Pathway Program, FC DELCO and Abington School District, soccer has always been a huge part of Matthew's life, and we can't wait to see him back on the field! 💙
