💚 Some Wounds Aren’t Visible 💚

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can affect people of all ages and backgrounds. While the effects may not always be visible, the impact can be very real.

Every person’s experience with PTSD is different, and healing is not a straight path. Recovery takes time, support, understanding, and access to the right resources.

If you or someone you know is struggling, remember that help is available and no one has to face it alone.

🦟 Protect Yourself from Mosquitoes and Ticks 🕷️

One of the easiest ways to reduce your risk of mosquito and tick bites is to use an insect repellent when spending time outdoors.

Be sure to apply repellent as directed, especially when you’ll be in wooded areas, tall grass, near water, or other places where mosquitoes and ticks are commonly found.

Just a few seconds of prevention can help protect you and your family from illnesses carried by these tiny pests.

☀️ Beat the Heat Safely ☀️

When temperatures rise, what you wear can make a big difference. Choose loose-fitting, lightweight, and light-colored clothing to help your body stay cool. Light colors reflect sunlight, while dark colors absorb heat and can make you feel hotter.

Stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, and check on family members, neighbors, and pets during periods of extreme heat.

Happy Nurses Week to another one of our incredible nurses! 💙

Michelle Cole has been an RN for 19 years and has dedicated the last 12 years to caring for our community at Phillips County Health Department.

She is the proud mom of 4 grown children, recently celebrated one daughter getting married, and is excited for another daughter graduating college this year.

When asked what she enjoys most about nursing, she said:“I enjoy knowing I made a difference for someone and connecting with people through all stages of life.”

Thank you for the compassion, care, and dedication you bring to our community every day!
