Family Involvement Center is a not-for-profit, family-run organization that was founded by Jane Kallal in 2001. The majority of our employees and Board of Directors have personal life experience raising children with emotional, behavioral, and/or mental health challenges.

Meet Lissa, a Clinical Program Manager and Therapist at Family Involvement Center’s Prescott Valley office!

With more than 30 years of experience supporting high-risk youth and families, Lissa is an Arizona Licensed Counselor, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, TBRI Practitioner, and EMDR therapist.

What she values most about her work is building genuine connections, walking alongside individuals and families, and helping them recognize their own strength and resilience.

Family Bridge Child Care Program is here to help. The program provides short-term child care support for families participating in or seeking treatment and recovery services, while helping them explore longer-term child care options.

We’re excited to introduce Family Bridge, a new child care program at Family Involvement Center.

Family Bridge helps families who are participating in or seeking treatment and recovery services when child care becomes a barrier. We can provide short-term child care assistance while also helping families explore longer-term options.

That may include help finding child care, applying for DES Child Care Assistance, connecting with community resources, and figuring out what options are available moving forward.

The goal is to make child care one less barrier for families working toward recovery.

Meet Don, one of FIC’s dedicated Youth Support Partners!

Don works alongside teens and their families to build life skills, increase independence, and navigate the challenges that come with preparing for adulthood.

His journey into this work began after adopting his youngest son. His family’s experience with the foster care and behavioral health systems showed him how powerful it can be to have someone who believes in you and advocates for you.

For Don, the most rewarding moments are seeing young people recognize their own potential and move from “I can’t” to “I did.” He brings authenticity, patience, and encouragement to his work every day, helping teens feel heard, supported, and empowered.

Don’s message to families is simple: Progress may not happen overnight, but every small step matters. Keep believing in yourself, celebrate the little victories, and remember that asking for support is a sign of strength.

Thank you, Don, for showing up for youth and families and helping them see what’s possible!

From August 3 through October 30, we're collecting new socks and hygiene products to support children, youth, families, and individuals in our community. Every donation helps provide comfort, restore dignity, and remind someone they're not alone.

Bullying isn't just "part of growing up."

Repeated bullying can affect a child's sense of safety, confidence, relationships, and mental health.

If you've noticed changes in your child's mood, behavior, or interest in school or activities, take a moment to check in. A simple conversation can remind them they're seen, heard, and supported.

No child should have to face bullying alone, and no parent or caregiver should have to navigate it alone.
