Early intervention does not just support a child. It changes the entire path forward.

When families get answers early, they can act with confidence instead of waiting and wondering. Skills are strengthened sooner. Support starts earlier. Outcomes improve.

That is the work of the Center of Excellence. Helping families move from questions to action at the moment it matters most.

We’re kicking off our Back to School Drive!

Too many children start the school year without the supplies they need to succeed, but together, we can change that.

Your support helps provide backpacks filled with essentials so kids can walk into the classroom confident and ready to learn.

Mental health isn’t just one month, it’s part of everything we do.

From infancy through early childhood, we focus on helping families build emotional resilience, navigate challenges, and strengthen the bonds that shape lifelong well‑being. By supporting parents during a child’s earliest years, we help lay the groundwork for healthy minds, strong relationships, and brighter tomorrows.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we reaffirm our commitment to families, because every child deserves a strong start, and every parent deserves support along the way.

Today, we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country and acknowledge the families who carry that sacrifice every day.
It’s a day to pause, reflect, and hold gratitude for the freedoms we have because of those who never made it home.

We remember them today, and always.

Raising a young child is a journey filled with joy, uncertainty, exhaustion, and love and your mental health matters too.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re recognizing parents and caregivers of children ages 0–5 who show up every day, even when it’s hard. Supporting your own well‑being is one of the most powerful ways to support your child’s development.

At Southwest Human Development, we meet families where they are, helping parents feel confident, heard, and supported, because caring for young children starts with caring for the adults who love them most.

61 years. 40 million lives.
It’s the teacher who notices. The parent who finds their voice. The team that never gives up.

Not just a program, but people who believe in what’s possible and prove it. Every day.

Today, we celebrate 61 years of Head Start and the people who make it possible.
