🚅 Preeclampsia Can Happen to Anyone. Know the Warning Signs.

Preeclampsia is a serious pregnancy complication that can develop during pregnancy or after birth. Knowing the warning signs could save a life.

⚠️ Contact your healthcare provider immediately or seek emergency care if you experience:

• Difficulty breathing
• A headache that will not go away
• Nausea or vomiting in the second half of pregnancy
• Pain in the upper right abdomen or shoulder
• Seeing spots or changes in vision
• Sudden weight gain
• Swelling of the face or hands

Too often, symptoms are dismissed or explained away as a normal part of pregnancy. Trust your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, speak up and keep asking questions until you get answers.

Every pregnant and postpartum person deserves to be heard, believed, and cared for.

Want to better understand preeclampsia, its warning signs, and the steps you can take to protect yourself?

A baby doesn’t come with instructions.

Yet families are expected to make hundreds of decisions during pregnancy and the first year of life.

Should I be worried about this symptom?

How do I prepare for breastfeeding?

What questions should I ask my doctor?

What is normal after birth?

Where can I find help I can trust?

For many families, the answers depend on luck.

Who they know.

Where they live.

Whether someone in their circle has walked this path before.

Birthing the Magic Collaborative exists to change that.

We believe every family deserves access to trusted guidance during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, not just those with connections, resources, or insider knowledge.

Through culturally grounded education, expert-led workshops, and accessible resources, we help Black birthing people and those who care for them feel informed, prepared, and supported.

We turn overwhelming information into practical knowledge families can actually use.

Knowledge that builds confidence.

Knowledge that strengthens advocacy.

Knowledge that helps families make decisions for themselves and their babies.

Today, we’re asking for your support.

Your gift helps us provide education, connect families with trusted experts, expand access to vital resources, and strengthen the village that surrounds Black birthing families.

Whether you give once or become a recurring donor, every contribution helps ensure that more families have the knowledge and support they need to thrive.

Because every family deserves more than hope.

They deserve support.

They deserve knowledge.

They deserve a village.

Will you make a gift today and help us bring trusted guidance to more families when they need it most?

Meet our incredible guest speaker for Beyond the Bump, Dr. Jane C. Grant, PT, DPT! ✨

Dr. Jane is a board-certified Doctor of Physical Therapy, pelvic floor specialist, and the visionary founder of Invigorate Holistic Wellness. Her journey in healthcare began at Tennessee State University, followed by her earning a doctorate at Hampton University.

But Dr. Jane is not your average physical therapist.

Recognizing the limitations of traditional, disease-centered medical models, she deliberately expanded her expertise to bridge the gap between clinical science and sacred, holistic healing.

Dr. Jame is also a certified SMC Full Circle Doula & Birth Companion, Community Herbalist, Level III Reiki Teacher, and Mindfulness Practitioner.

Dr. Jane has dedicated her career to creating culturally safe, trauma-informed spaces where women of color, marginalized populations, and birthing humans can reclaim their bodies. She specializes in prenatal and postpartum athletic coaching, pelvic pain, and rebuilding core strength. She works hard to ensure mamas get the thorough, respectful care they deserve.

We are so honored to have her share her wisdom with the Birthing the Magic community on June 10th!

Secure your free spot at Bit.ly/Pelvic_HealthBTM to ask her your pelvic health questions live. 🧘🏾‍♀️🌱
