Although scoliosis is not widely known, it is a common condition that can affect infants, adolescents, and adults of any race, class, or gender. About one in six children diagnosed with scoliosis will require active treatment for a curve in their spine, which may even involve surgery.

Meet Dr. Paul Sousa 👋🩺

Dr. Sousa is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip, knee, and shoulder replacement surgery at OrthoArizona.

Committed to delivering high-quality care and improving patient recovery, Dr. Sousa specializes in minimally invasive techniques, including direct anterior hip replacement, muscle- and tendon-sparing knee replacement, partial knee replacement, and robotic-assisted procedures designed to support better recovery outcomes.

Get to know our OrthoArizona staff - Kym Rhymes, a Patient Service Specialist at our North Glendale location.

Kym joined OrthoArizona after a right hip replacement and transformative physical therapy inspired her to move from veterinary care into the rehab field.

With 22 years of veterinary experience and a prior 16-year career in the car dealership industry, she also made history as the nation’s first female Chrysler Gold Certified service advisor in the 1990s and the first female service writer at Coulter Cadillac in the early 2000s.

A lifelong music lover, once known as “the heavy metal mama”, Kym still rocks out to heavy metal and classic rock.
