🌟 Staff Appreciation Spotlight, Michelle Pecile🌟

Today we’re recognizing a key member of our leadership team, Michelle Pecile, our Office Manager.

Michelle is organized, hardworking, and deeply family-oriented. As our Office Manager, she oversees all administrative operations and works closely with every member of our team to ensure the practice runs smoothly and efficiently each day. She plays an essential role in both patient care and overall practice management.

Michelle is passionate about helping people and is committed to making every patient’s experience as seamless and positive as possible. From verifying insurance and maintaining transparency with our policies to answering phones, coordinating workflows, and supporting our team, she ensures that every detail is handled with care. She also collaborates with me to develop ideas that enhance patient care and improve the overall patient experience.

Her dedication consistently goes above and beyond. Whether it’s opening the office on a Saturday, staying late to catch up on work, or stepping in wherever needed, Michelle helps keep everything moving forward.

Outside of the office, you will find Michelle supporting her daughter in all of her activities, bringing the same level of commitment and care she shows in our practice.

Today we’re highlighting one of the true MVPs of our office, Karey Kovitch, our Medical Assistant and Scheduling Coordinator!

Known as the “MacGyver” of Yurkanin Foot & Ankle, Karey can fix just about anything and keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. She is a true problem solver who thrives on challenges and keeps the office moving every day. From assisting with patient care and mastering our laser treatments for neuropathy patients to coordinating all aspects of surgery scheduling, she plays a critical role in delivering excellent patient care.

Karey brings a playful, upbeat, and fun energy to our office, keeping the team motivated and the atmosphere positive every day.

Outside of work, she’s a proud mom of two and a dedicated Eagles fan. 🦅

We are proud to announce that Dr. Gabriela M. Yurkanin, is among the first foot and ankle surgeons in Pennsylvania to implant the Talisman neuromodulation trial devices for the treatment of chronic foot pain and neuropathy.

In addition, we are excited to share that we are also leading the way in utilizing this advanced technology for the treatment of drop foot and neuropathy.

I would like to extend my gratitude to my exceptional staff for their support of the Neuropathy Screening Seminar. We experienced a remarkable turnout, with 20 individuals reserving seats and all 20 attending. The event was fully attended. Please stay tuned for our upcoming event in Clarks Summit. The seminar was highly engaging, and the participants provided valuable input for our next tagline: "You don’t have to live with neuropathy, any longer!"

Seminar on March 21, 2026 is full! Thank you The Citizens' Voice and thank you to my wonderful staff for scheduling and taking time from your family to be a part of this experience. We look forward to serving you. A 15-minute presentation will be provided to those who signed up, lunch and personal foot screening for neuropathy. Gino's Shoe Store will also be available to discuss shoes and sneakers for our patients.

🌟 STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Meet Cassandra (“Cassie”) 🌟

At Yurkanin Foot & Ankle Reconstructive Center, our team is built on compassion, and Cassie brings that energy to our office every single day.

Cassie joined our team in October 2025 and brings over 9 years of experience in patient support and medical practice. With a background as an Insurance Authorization Specialist and Receptionist at Pinnacle Rehabilitation in Pittston, along with experience as a Medical Assistant for Aveanna Healthcare, she helps patients feel comfortable, supported, and confident throughout their entire visit.

Cassie is known for her playful personality and strong sense of teamwork. Her coworkers describe her as jovial, warmhearted, and radiant, someone who truly loves helping others. You will recognize her by her big smile and uplifting presence. Even though she says she is shy, she is incredibly caring and optimistic, making every patient feel seen and heard. Many patients leave the office smiling after she checks them out.

Outside of work, Cassie enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She is a big Dolly Parton fan, loves animals, volunteers her time supporting animal rescue efforts, and has fostered children in need. She also loves to drive Karey, our medical assistant, crazy, which always keeps us laughing in the office!
