Texas Health shares what women should know about menopause and hormone replacement therapy, including common symptoms, treatment options and when to talk with your doctor.

For years, many women heard a simple message about hormone replacement therapy (HRT): avoid it. That message was passed down from mothers, grandmothers and even some doctors. Today, the guidance looks very different, and a lot of women are left wondering what is actually true.

The work of our area EMS partners in the field is critical to what we do when the patient arrives at the ER. They're important members of the continuum of care, which is one reason we host a quarterly EMS luncheon. This week we recognized Pilot Point Fire M641/T641/FM641 for a trauma case; Plano M7/Q7 for a stroke response; Addison M101/Carrollton E113 for a STEMI case; and Carrollton Fire M116/E116 for a maternal case. For each of these patients, the stabilization at the scene, care provided en route, and the advanced treatment by our hospital's team of physicians, nurses and other specialists resulted in great outcomes. We are thankful for each and every one of these first responders and many others throughout the region!

Food insecurity remains a top issue for families and individuals throughout Dallas and Collin Counties. As part of our commitment to the community, Texas Health Plano employees and departments recently collected 973 pounds of peanut butter for the North Texas Food Bank's annual Peanut Butter Drive. 973 pounds translates to 810.83 meals to neighbors throughout the area. We've also been spending time at The Storehouse Community Center's Seven Loaves Pantry every month in conjunction with our 35th anniversary year. Shown below at the Storehouse are care team members from the lab, who helped sort, pack and distribute food to neighbors who come to the center for help. What an honor and privilege it is for us to serve our community in these meaningful ways!

From colleagues to friends and sources of strength. 💙

When Texas Health Southwest colleagues Christal Miller and Laura Rasor both faced cancer diagnoses, they leaned on each other for support. Their shared experience transformed a workplace connection into a powerful friendship built on resilience, encouragement and hope.
Read their story in Fort Worth magazine:

Last year, Christal Miller and Laura Rasor were diagnosed with aggressive forms of cancer nearly back-to-back — but through their battles, they also became stronger individuals and closer friends.
