True Self Counseling Utah

True Self Counseling Utah True Self Counseling provides individual, couples, and group therapy to children, teens and adults. in addition to more expressive therapies.

At True Self Counseling, we believe that each of us has inherent worth and value. We all carry within us the ability to heal, grow, and find true happiness and peace. We begin to struggle when we lose sight of that individual worth and begin to let our actions and beliefs be based more on the world around us than on the voice within us. Our goal is to help our clients strengthen that inner voice a

nd live a life consistent with their authentic selves. We work with a variety of issues, but specialize in treating trauma, anxiety disorders, OCD, depression, ADHD, LGBTQ+ issues, life transitions, and faith transitions. We also have therapists who specialize in work with children, as well as therapists who work with families and couples. We take a client-centered approach, meaning that we value each individual and their fundamental worth, and we view our clients as equal partners in the therapy process. We believe that there is not a one size fits all approach to therapy, so we utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches to connect and communicate with our clients in the way that works best for them. Because children express themselves and their needs through play, we rely heavily on play therapy, art, and sand tray therapies. For older adolescents and adults, we provide traditional talk therapy (such as CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, etc.) We are also trained various trauma approaches, including EMDR, IFS, CPT, and TF-CBT. We strongly believe in and promote acceptance and inclusivity, and we welcome people from all backgrounds, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, genders, religions, and abilities.

We’re kicking off Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week. This year's theme, "A Decade of Voices," reminds us that no mother should have to navigate her struggles in silence.

To the parents holding it all together: your needs are just as important as the ones you’re tending to. Whether you're facing the "baby blues" or deeper postpartum support needs, your experience is valid and you are not alone.

Motherhood is a profound transition. If you’re looking for a safe space to share your voice, we are here to walk with you. Visit our link in bio to learn more.

Healthy relationships aren't defined by a lack of conflict—they are defined by the quality of the repair. True relationship health thrives when both partners feel safe enough to be seen and heard, especially after a disagreement.

Moving from "fixing" to understanding allows for a more authentic connection. Repairing a bond isn't about being perfect; it’s about choosing to stay present and values-aligned, even when things are messy.

If you and your partner are looking for a way to strengthen your communication and connection, our door is open. Connect with us via the link in our bio.

Closing out Stress Awareness Month, we’re looking at the pressure of external labels. When you spend your life meeting everyone else’s expectations, your True Self often gets buried under the "shoulds."

Reclaiming your story is a brave step toward authenticity. When you stop performing for others, you create room for your own voice to lead. You are more than the roles you play; you are the person underneath them.

If you need a partner to help you untangle who you are from who you were told to be, we offer an affirming space for that journey. Link in bio for more.

For Stress Awareness Month, we’re focusing on the power of the "small win". When life feels overwhelming, we often think we need massive shifts to find peace. But the theme "Be the Change" can start with something as simple as a five-minute pause.

True mental wellness isn't about perfect productivity; it’s about listening to your inner voice and choosing gentleness over pressure. Today, being the change might just mean acknowledging that you’re doing your best. That is enough.

If you’re looking for a steady space to navigate life's stressors, our door is open. Learn more about our grounded approach to care via the link in our bio.

April is Stress Awareness Month, and this year’s theme is "Be the Change". For neurodivergent minds, stress often stems from how we process tasks, not just how many we have.

If you have ADHD or are autistic, traditional "productivity hacks" can actually increase your stress. Executive function challenges aren't a moral failing; they are a biological reality. At True Self Counseling, we help you "be the change" by finding a flow that honors your unique wiring rather than fighting it. You deserve a day with less friction and more self-compassion.

If you're tired of the burnout cycle and want ADHD support that actually fits your brain, we’re here to walk with you whenever you’re ready. Link in bio for more.
