Today’s Therapy Technique from Tucker: “This week I learned that sometimes safety must be FELT, not explained, in order to heal someone’s nervous system. 🙏🏻 I really wanted a new friend. 🐶 It took me a few weeks of being very calm, patient and sharing my yard with this little deer in order to show her that I was friendly. ❤️ After many nightly visits and attempts to play with her, she finally accepted! 🎉 My mom told me that because I was such a good boy, the deers nervous system actually learned to feel comfortable in our yard. Because of me, she felt safe, allowing her the freedom to be her playful self.🥹 I didn’t talk with her, I just showed her that safety, calm, and connection was possible. She even introduced me to a few of her other friends!”

That's a wrap for our first MFS ADHD Parent Intensive!👏 We enjoyed spending the day with a wonderful group of participants, sharing our knowledge about ADHD and discussing specific ways to help support their children. 📝

One of them kindly shared with us, "The ADHD Intensive Workshop helped me to better understand my child and how I can modify some of my parenting styles to fit his needs. I also learned how to advocate for my child to improve his ability to learn at school." -Sonja

Today’s Therapy Technique from Tucker: 🐾 “Mom gave me this herding ball to play with, and even though I was excited, it took me a while to figure it out. It’s big, heavy, and I didn’t know how to work with it (I kept running into things and got tired super fast😳). But with some time, practice, and determination I finally figured it out and now I LOVE to play with it. 😃 Here’s my point… Sometimes life hands you things that feel too big to handle. You may feel tired, frustrated, and ready to give up. That’s ok. You’re allowed to have those feelings…but no matter what, keep going! You are capable and I believe in you. ❤️ I promise, it will get easier."
