I’m excited to share a bit of a shift in my practice — and an updated website to reflect it.

I looking forward to continuing to provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), helping clients effectively "get back to sleep," for some the first time in their adult lives. 💤 🌙

I’m also increasingly focusing my practice on EMDR therapy, working with folks experiencing anxiety, depression, shame, low self-worth, and of course--trauma. Over the years, I’ve become deeply committed to this modality and have had the privilege of seeing it create meaningful change for clients over and over again. Sometimes, yes, I still feel as surprised as my clients do when we effectively reprocess a past experience and they notice a shift in how they feel. 👀🧠

Of course, there’s absolutely no “right” amount of time to be in therapy, and all of our clients' experiences differ. That said, I’ve noticed that many clients seem to experience meaningful symptom improvement more quickly with EMDR, compared to modalities I used previously, and, in some cases, complete treatment in a shorter period of time. I’ve even noticed that the work seems to keep moving forward when I’m away on vacation—which I’ll happily take as a sign that something is sticking!

I’ve also expanded my consultation practice and plan on continuing to offer regular individual and group consultation to fellow EMDR clinicians. I enjoy supporting fellow clinicians as they deepen their skills and confidence with this, at times, challenging modality. 📚✏️

So, in a nutshell: a little less of some things, a lot more EMDR, and a practice that feels increasingly aligned with the work I love.

Counting down the days until the 2026 EMDRIA Conference in Anaheim!

One of the things I love most about being an EMDR therapist is that there’s always more to learn. Every conference, training, and consultation gives me new ways to think about trauma, attachment, and healing.

I’m especially excited to connect with other EMDR clinicians, learn from leaders in the field, and bring back practical tools that can make EMDR even more effective for the clients I work with.

This week I had the opportunity to attend Postpartum Support International’s two-day training, Perinatal Mood Disorders: Components of Care.

Over the past few years, I’ve increasingly had clients reach out specifically seeking EMDR therapy for birth trauma. While I have experience treating trauma, I recognized an opportunity to deepen my knowledge of the unique mental health challenges that can arise during pregnancy and the postpartum period.

I believe it’s important to continue learning so I can provide thoughtful, evidence-informed care to the people who trust me with their stories. I’m grateful for the opportunity to expand my understanding of perinatal mental health and strengthen my work with clients healing from birth trauma.

Healing isn’t about becoming a different person. It’s about reconnecting with the version of you that existed before shame, criticism, trauma, or painful experiences convinced you that you weren’t enough.

Healing doesn’t create your worth—it uncovers what was there all along.

One tool a fellow EMDR consultant shared with me was the practice of keeping a resource notecard for each client throughout the EMDR process.

On each card, I keep a running list of resources I hear clients mention — past or present, real or imagined — that may be helpful during reprocessing. I keep track of their preferred calm/safe states, the container they connect with, and resources developed through resource development and installation (RDI) exercises.

These notecards have become a simple, but valuable part of my work with clients. They provide a quick reminder of each client’s “breaks” during reprocessing, support closure at the end of sessions, and help clients reconnect with strengths and resources.

I love how EMDR continually invites us to be both structured and creative — using protocols while also staying deeply attuned to each individual client’s unique resources and needs.

Courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s the willingness to be seen, even when it feels hard. Today, I invite you to show up, with all of yourself, and know that you matter and you are in fact enough, just the way you are.

Another Therapist Win: When clients cancel, because they’re finally sleeping again. 💛💤🐑

👉🏻 Things like this happen REGULARIY! 👈🏻

One of the things I love about CBT-I is that it’s designed to be short-term and practical. A lot of clients don’t need years of treatment for insomnia — they need the right tools, consistency, and support while their sleep system resets.

Getting messages like this never gets old.

There’s a reason EMDR is known to “change lives.” It’s a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps people move through what feels stuck—and find real healing.
