Last night, we had the honor of celebrating Eyecare Medical Group being named one of Maine’s Best Places to Work at the awards reception in Augusta!
It was a wonderful evening surrounded by incredible people and organizations that share a commitment to creating great workplaces.

While we are proud to be recognized among so many outstanding Maine companies, what makes this honor especially meaningful is our people. Our team is the heart of EMG, and the culture we've built together is a reflection of the care, dedication, and pride they bring to work every day. This one belongs to all of us ❤️.

It’s bittersweet to say goodbye, but both Nancy and June are off to a well deserved retirement! June has been with EMG for 38 years and Nancy has been here for 21 years! It’s a true testament to a practice when you have longevity like this. Many thanks to both of you for all the years of patient care, and enjoy the next adventure!!

Help us welcome Dr. Matthew Thees to EMG!

Dr. Thees brings more than 20 years of optometric experience to our team, and he’s joining EMG in a role designed a little differently than a traditional eye care practice.

You won’t see Dr. Thees for routine annual eye exams. Instead, he’ll be working closely with our physicians and surgical teams to help care for patients before and after surgery supporting cataract, refractive and other surgical care from evaluation through recovery. Think of him as another set of highly experienced eyes helping make your surgical journey as smooth and well-supported as possible.

We’re excited to have Dr. Thees on the team and even more excited for our patients to get to know him. Please join us in giving him a warm EMG welcome!

What a week at EMG! Employee Appreciation Week was an opportunity for EMG to celebrate our dedicated and caring staff with fun hat day, color day, ice cream, surprise gifts and an end of the week food truck picnic, where we also recognized staff longevity. EMG does have the best staff who are committed to providing the upmost care for our patients!
