This week, Dr. Workman, Dr. Butler, and CEO Sheila Kisor attended and presented at OrthoConnect in Austin, joining orthopedic leaders from across the country to share best practices, explore emerging technologies, and discuss ways to advance patient care.

What matters most is what we bring home. New ideas, conversations, and collaborations help us continue improving the care and experience we provide our patients every day.

We’re proud to keep learning, contributing, and finding better ways to serve our community.

What does a PA do in orthopedics?

Physician Associates play an important role in helping patients through every stage of orthopedic care, but what types of jobs do they cover?

We asked one of our PAs to break down their role, how they work alongside orthopedic surgeons, and the ways they help patients get back to doing what they love.

Hear it directly from Kat Rodenburg, PA-C at Orthopedic + Fracture Specialists.

Shoulder pain had become part of Ena's everyday life. Sleeping on her left side hurt, lifting her arm was difficult, and eventually she learned her shoulder had become bone on bone.

After meeting with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Brett Andres, she decided it was time for a reverse total shoulder replacement.

Recovery wasn't effortless, but Ena committed to physical therapy with Grace Bautista, PT, and that made all the difference. Today she's back to gardening, painting, and doing the things she loves.

"Dr. Andres and his team are the best. My recovery has been great, and I have almost forgotten that I had shoulder surgery."

Stories like Ena's are a reminder that you don't have to accept shoulder pain as a normal part of life. If pain is limiting what you love to do, there may be treatment options that can help.

Read Ena's full story on our website blog.

We’re proud to recognize Jesuit High School student-athletes Theo Denes and Carson Floberg for their outstanding achievement in concussion education.

Theo and Carson developed and studied a curriculum that teaches middle school students how to recognize concussions and reduce their risk. Their work earned second place at the Oregon HOSA State Competition and a top 20 finish at the HOSA International Competition in Indianapolis.

O+FS was proud to sponsor their journey. They hope to bring the program to local summer and youth sports camps to help improve concussion awareness.

Congratulations, Theo and Carson! .denes28
