When Southern Maine decides to give us another rainy, foggy day, we don't let the weather spoil the fun! 🌧️⛳
Our residents brought the mini golf course indoors and turned a gloomy day into a hole-in-one kind of afternoon. From friendly competition to plenty of laughs, it's proof that a little Maine weather can't keep us from making great memories together.
After all, if you can handle mud season, surprise showers, and a nor'easter or two, you can certainly conquer an indoor putting green! 😊🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️

🎭 Murder, mystery, and plenty of laughter filled the stage as our Atrium Theater Group presented their newest play, Next Victim Please!

The audience enjoyed an afternoon of comedy and suspense as the eccentric Murdock family gathered at Murdock Manor for the reading of a very important will… with hilarious twists along the way. From dramatic entrances to laugh-out-loud moments, our talented cast delivered a performance to remember!

Bravo to the entire Atrium Theater Group for bringing such energy, creativity, and fun to our community stage! 👏✨

We’re bringing back fresh inspiration and innovative ideas to keep transforming the way we care. Together, we’re making waves!

This Older Americans Month, we proudly celebrate the incredible older adults who make our community so special. ❤️

The 2026 theme, Champion Your Health, highlights the importance of wellness, prevention, and independence as cornerstones of healthy aging. Every day, our residents inspire us with their strength, wisdom, and passion for living life to the fullest.

A special thank you to the Mayor of Portland, Mark Dion, for reading the official proclamation and helping make our celebration even more meaningful.

We’re also excited to showcase our community art projects, highlighting the many different ways our residents champion their health. From fitness and friendship to lifelong learning and self-care, these projects beautifully capture the spirit, individuality, and vibrant lives within each of our communities. 🎨✨

This month and every month, we celebrate the older Americans who continue to inspire us through their stories, resilience, and the lives they’ve shaped. Thank you for showing us what it truly means to age with purpose, passion, and pride!

We love celebrating legends—and Gertie, the world’s oldest chicken, is at the top of our list 🐔

As of April 2026, Gertie, a 15-year-old Golden Sebright hen living in Portland, Maine, was crowned the world’s oldest living chicken by Guinness World Records. Talk about an impressive milestone!

At our community, we love celebrating stories like Gertie’s that remind us age is something to be proud of. Our residents inspire us every day in the same way—with their wisdom, resilience, and vibrant spirits. Here’s to celebrating every chapter, every milestone, and every “oldest chicken” moment along the way!

This year, we had the privilege of witnessing something truly special—an experience that reminded us of the profound power of storytelling to heal, connect, and inspire. In collaboration with the University of Southern Maine Honors Program, students and our incredible “elder teachers” came together to share stories of life, health, and resilience.

Through this year’s workshop, Stories Told Through The Window, we experienced journeys across time and place—from Peaks Island summers to snowy days during the Vietnam War—each story reflecting the beauty, complexity, and richness of a life lived. These moments reminded us that storytelling is powerful. It connects us, helps us heal, and deepens our understanding of one another.

A heartfelt thank you to our students for their compassion and listening, to our residents for sharing their stories, and to Amy Amoroso for creating such a meaningful experience.

We hope these stories inspire you to reflect—and maybe even share your own.
