We are honored that Dutchess County Executive Susan J. Serino has officially recognized June as Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month and July as BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month in Dutchess County.

Mental health is essential to the well-being of every individual, family, and community. Yet more than 1 billion people worldwide live with a mental health condition, and nearly 1 in 4 Americans experience mental illness each year. Too often, stigma and misunderstanding prevent people from seeking the support they deserve.

This proclamation recognizes the importance of:
🧠 Encouraging open conversations about men’s mental health.
🤎 Addressing disparities in mental health care affecting Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
🤝 Expanding access to culturally responsive care and support.
🌱 Building communities rooted in compassion, understanding, and wellness.

At The Brain and Body Coalition, we remain committed to breaking barriers, reducing stigma, and creating spaces where every person feels seen, heard, and empowered to seek help.

We extend our sincere gratitude to County Executive Susan J. Serino for recognizing the importance of mental wellness and for encouraging all residents to support efforts that promote mental health, expand access to care, and build a more compassionate community.

Together, we are building a culture of wellness.

July is Bebe Moore Campbell BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month.

This month reminds us that culture, community, and lived experiences all impact mental health.

It is an opportunity to:
💚 Learn
💚 Listen
💚 Reduce stigma
💚 Connect people to resources
💚 Support healing in our communities

At The Brain and Body Coalition, we believe mental health education and culturally responsive support can help create lasting change.

Together, let’s continue breaking the barriers of stigma.
