Central Aroostook Association

Central Aroostook Association We provide people in our programs the necessary support to reach their highest level of personal development. Welcome! Richard, Executive Director

Central Aroostook Association has proudly been serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1959. This amazing association was founded by parents who believed that their sons and daughters deserved to be educated, employed, and live in their own communities. Through a dedicated Board of Directors and supportive staff, our mission has continued since its inception. The as

sociation has grown from one program and is now supporting people in eight different programs. We hope that you enjoy surfing through our website. - Stephen D.

Central Aroostook Association Welcomes Nine New Employees
Through TEMPO Employment Services in Presque Isle.

The partnership, formed in November, has helped CAA expand recruitment efforts across Aroostook County and connect with candidates who may not have otherwise learned about opportunities within the organization.

Beginning in June, nine Tempo employees will transition into positions at CAA after completing onboarding, training, and more than 400 hours of employment. The new hires include four Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs), four Educational Technicians (Ed Techs), and one Direct Support Professional (DSP). CAA also continues to work with additional TEMPO staff within programs, with hopes of onboarding more employees later this summer.

Central Aroostook Association would also like to thank the team at TEMPO Employment Services for their continued support and partnership throughout this process, as well as CAA trainer Jody Shaw for helping to make the transition and onboarding process smooth and successful for the new employees.

This week we celebrated Jon's retirement from SUFU, with other SUFU members, cake and a lot of great friends!

SUFU, Speaking Up For Us, a statewide self-advocacy organization in Maine is run by and for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, founded in 1993.

Its mission is to help people develop leadership, advocacy, and self-determination skills so they can have greater control over their own lives and speak up on issues that affect them. Jon has been a valuable member of SUFU for years and it was a great time celebrating all he has contributed with fellow members and supporters!

Thanks Jon!
