We hope to see you tomorrow (Saturday, October 31) morning at our Pediatric/Family Flu Shot Clinic. This flu shot clinic is for children and teens (age six months to 18 years), as well as adults accompanying them, if desired. It takes place from 9-11 a.m. at our Northern Light Pediatrics practice, located at 23 North Street in Presque Isle. Costumes are welcome, and trick or treat goodies will be handed out!

At a meeting last week, AR Gould's nominees for Northern Light Health's 2026 True North Awards were announced and recognized.

The True North Awards program is a prestigious collection of five individual awards as well as one team award presented to those whose behaviors and accomplishments exemplify a profound and impactful dedication to the Northern Light Health promise.

It's an honor to move these people forward to represent our hospital for consideration for the system-level recognition. Congratulations to each of the honorees on "winning" their category at our local hospital level! We wish you each best of luck in the final system-level selection!

Our Pediatric/Family Flu Shot Clinic takes place this Saturday, October 31, from 9-11 am! Because it's Halloween, we invite the kiddos to come in costume and get a little extra opportunity for trick or treating! We'll have lots of goodies to hand out!

This flu shot clinic is for children and teens (age six months to 18 years), as well as any adults who are accompanying them, if desired. It takes place at our Northern Light Pediatrics practice, located at 23 North Street in Presque Isle.

We are happy to welcome Ashlee Duff, FNP, CARN-AP to Northern Light AR Gould Hospital! Ashlee, a Fort Fairfield native, joined us this week and will be providing care in the hospital’s new consolidated Wound Care clinic.

Ashlee first entered the healthcare field after graduating from Northern Maine Community College’s nursing program. She worked as an RN at AR Gould in the Medical/Surgical and Day Surgery units, and cross trained for the Acute Rehab and Critical Care units. While working here, she also continued her education, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Husson University. Her desire to be able to take a larger role in leading patient care led her to complete her Master of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Husson University.

Ashlee is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and is a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse – Advance Practice (CARN-AP). She is actively working to become certified in Wound Care.

Today is Wear Pink Day, a day to show support of breast cancer awareness and the importance of early detection.

Did you know that roughly one in eight women (about 13%) in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime; it is the most common cancer diagnosed among women in the US. Men can get breast cancer, too, but they make up less than one percent of all breast cancers. Early detection is so important - it not only improves survival outcomes but also allows for less invasive treatment options.

Here are just a few photos of those who wore pink today, from scrubs and shirts to fun accessories, to show their support for breast cancer awareness in style.

In honor of Physical Therapy (PT) Month, we want to proudly recognize our incredible PT team! Whether working in the hospital or in outpatient clinics, our AR Gould PT team is united by one goal: to help every patient move better, feel stronger, and live their best life.

Our therapists support patients recovering from surgery, navigating cancer treatment, and overcoming injury or illness — meeting each individual where they are with skill, patience, and heart. Of course, none of this would be possible without our incredible support staff — on the units, in the office, in homes, and behind the scenes — who keep everything running smoothly and make excellent patient care a priority.

Has your family had their flu shots yet? If not, mark your calendar for Saturday, October 31, from 9-11 am! We will be holding a community flu shot clinic for children and teens (age six months to 18 years), as well as any adults who are accompanying them if desired. We were happy to host our clergy appreciation luncheon yesterday! Members of the clergy community came to Northern Light AR Gould where they were able to meet with our AR Gould Spiritual Care Team and enjoyed a lunch while learning about some of the successes and challenges the hospital is facing. After lunch, we hosted a lovely dedication to our new chapel, which is non-denominational and on the first floor, across from our Acute Rehabilitation Unit.

Thank you to pastor Ken Phelps and Daryl Boucher, VP of operations, for speaking at the luncheon today. Special thanks to Laura Turner and Linda Menard, Kathy Peary, and Mary Trainor from Easton Wesleyan Church for planning and cooking at the event. Thank you to Better Things, Inc., whose donation made this renovation possible!
