🎡❤️ Making Memories at the Bureau County Fair! ❤️🎡

What a wonderful week we’ve had celebrating the Bureau County Fair! Our residents put in many hours of hard work preparing their entries, and seeing their excitement when those ribbons came in made it all worthwhile. 🎀🏆 We are SO proud of each and every one of them!

We enjoyed Senior Day at the Fair, starting with a fun game of bingo. A special congratulations goes to Leroy, our big winner of $20! 💵🎉 We then spent time walking through the exhibition halls, admiring all the amazing entries and enjoying the sights and sounds of the fair.

Of course, we couldn’t let the week end without bringing a little bit of the fair back to Greenfield! Saturday night was filled with some of our favorite fair treats—corn dogs, funnel cakes, and elephant ears! 🌭🍰😋

Next week, we’ll gather for a special awards celebration where we’ll present our residents with their well-deserved ribbons and celebrate all the time, creativity, and effort they put into their entries. 🎀❤️

These are the moments that make great memories—and we are so thankful we get to make them together! 🥰

What a fun week at Greenfield! 🍌 At our cooking demonstration, we learned some interesting facts about bananas—and for many of us, grilled banana splits were a delicious first! We also enjoyed wonderful music by Jeff and ended the week with bingo hosted by Avery from Liberty Village of Princeton. 🎶🎉

History came alive during Greenfield’s Historic Hometown Tour of Princeton! 🚌

Our residents added some history of their own! DeeAnn shared that her father built the outhouse at the Owen Lovejoy Homestead. We also learned that the replica of Greenwood Cottage, designed as a little library at the home on East Peru Street, was also built by DeeAnn’s husband, and Muzzy’s daughter, Laura, lives there!

It was a wonderful day of sightseeing, reminiscing, and discovering that the people who know our hometown best often have the greatest stories to tell. ❤️

🎣 Our newest activity, Friends Across Facilities, was a reel success! This month we visited Liberty Village in Princeton for a fun morning of fishing. We had a wonderful time and truly appreciate their warm hospitality—especially for helping bait the hooks and removing the fish! We’re looking forward to returning the favor when Greenfield hosts a Patio Talk in September. Thanks for a great day of friendship and fun!

Our Sunshine Social was simply zest-tastic! 🍋☀️ Residents enjoyed tasting a fresh lemon picked right from Lynn’s lemon tree, tested their knowledge with some fun “yellow” trivia, and treated themselves to delicious lemon muffins and refreshing lemonade.
