There are seasons when we’re being asked to let go of what we’ve been carrying.

And then there are seasons when we’re being asked to rise.

To reconnect with our strength.
To remember who we are.
To listen more deeply to what we want.
And to consciously choose how we want to move forward.

This Thursday, I’m offering RISE — a 90-minute online mind, body + spirit experience designed to bring transformation beyond the mind and into the body.

We’ll begin with meditation and a transformational teaching, then move into intentional yoga, breath and somatic practices before closing with reflection and coaching to help you integrate what comes forward.

Together, we’ll explore:

What am I ready to rise from?
What am I ready to rise into?
Who am I becoming?

I created RISE from the work I’ve spent years studying, practicing and teaching as a transformational coach and yoga therapist — bringing together the mind, body, breath and spirit rather than treating them as separate pieces of our healing.

Because sometimes transformation isn’t about thinking your way into a different life.

Sometimes we have to feel it. Move through it. And begin to embody it.

“I loafe and invite my soul,
I lean and loafe at my ease observing a spear of summer grass.”

— Walt Whitman, Song of Myself

What if the practice isn’t to do more?

What if, for a moment,
we stopped striving,
stopped reaching,
stopped asking the body to perform—

and simply listened?

There is a different kind of wisdom that reveals itself in stillness.

A softening.
An unwinding.
A remembering.

At Akamu, we believe rest is part of the practice.

Now offering restore and release & restore and sound healing weekly in our schedule and online library of classes.

PILINA 🌿

Connection ‱ Relationship ‱ Belonging

Pilina is our Hawaiian word of the month.

It speaks to the relationships that connect us—to one another, to our community, to our ancestors, and to the ʻāina that holds us.

And right now, this word feels especially meaningful.

In the wake of the hurricane, we have witnessed pilina all around us—neighbors helping neighbors, people sharing resources, checking on one another, and coming together to care for our island home.

It is a beautiful reminder that we are not meant to move through life alone.

We heal in relationship.
We grow in community.
We belong to one another and to this place.

Each month, we share a Hawaiian word and reflection like this through the Akamu Newsletter, along with practices, upcoming gatherings, wellness offerings, and ways to stay connected with our community here on Kauaʻi.

May we hold KauaÊ»i and one another in prayer. đŸ€

May we give thanks for the hands that are helping, the hearts that are giving, and the strength of a community coming together.

May we remember those who are still without water or power, those who are unable to leave their homes, and those working tirelessly to reach them.

And may we continue to be guided by aloha—caring for one another, sharing what we have, and remembering that none of us walks through this alone.

There is so much to be grateful for.

Mahalo to the County of Kauaʻi and our emergency relief centers for bringing much-needed fresh water into our communities each day.

Mahalo to the Army and emergency crews clearing fallen trees and reopening roads, helping reach areas where people have been unable to get out.

Mahalo to every person working long hours to restore our power and water, clear debris, clean up our island, and help our communities begin to recover.

And mahalo to the neighbors checking on neighbors, sharing food and water, opening their homes, offering a helping hand, and simply asking, “What do you need?”

This is ʻohana.
This is community.
This is aloha in action.

There is still much work to be done, so let us continue to pray for each other—for those who are tired, those who are waiting, those who have lost, and those working around the clock to help Kauaʻi recover.

May our island be held in protection.
May our people be given strength.
May we continue to care for one another.

With deep gratitude and aloha,
Victoria + the Akamu Ê»Ohana đŸ€

There are scents that bring us back to places.
To moments. To memories.

Flowers carried on warm air.
The earth after rain.
Salt lingering on sun-warmed skin.

Scent has a way of remembering what we thought we had forgotten.

Our Akamu botanical oils begin on Hawaiʻi Island, the birthplace of our Akamu ancestors, and are handcrafted on Kauaʻi in small batches.

Created not simply for the skin, but as a ritual of connection — to place, to body, to memory.

A way to carry a little of Hawaiʻi with you, long after you’ve returned home.

Rooted in Hawaiʻi. Made on Kauaʻi. Made to bring you back.

Available exclusively through Akamu.

There is a moment when the body asks us to slow down.

To soften.
To breathe.
To listen.

At Akamu Wellness, we believe healing isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes it begins when we create enough space to hear what the body, heart, and spirit have been trying to tell us.

Come back to your breath.
Come back to your body.
Come back to yourself.

Return to the sacred.

🌕 Mahina ‱ Pisces Ceremony 🌊

This Friday | 6:15–7:30 PM
Cliffs at Princeville

Join us beneath the energy of Mahina for an evening of slowing down, softening, and returning inward.

With the intuitive, water-filled energy of Pisces, we’ll create space to release what we’ve been carrying, listen more deeply, and reconnect with the wisdom within.

We’ll begin by sharing cacao from Hawaiian Hydration opening the heart and setting our intentions for the evening.

Then, surrender into a deeply restorative sound bath, allowing vibration and stillness to guide you inward.

We’ll close together with a refreshing herbal tea from O A K & O A R F A R M — grounding back into the body, the ʻāina, and community.

✹ Cacao
✹ Intention + reflection
✹ Sound healing
✹ Tea + connection

Come as you are. Leave a little lighter.

Maybe you don’t need to figure everything out right now.

Maybe you just need to exhale.

So many of us are carrying more than we realize — expectations, responsibilities, old stories, uncertainty, the need to know what comes next.

EXHALE is an invitation to put some of that down.

Join Victoria (founder and CEO of Akamu Wellness, with a masters in transformational coaching, & yoga therapist) this Thursday for an intimate online experience where we’ll slow down, turn inward, and explore what may be ready to be released.

Through breathwork, guided meditation, somatic practices, reflection, and transformational coaching, she will guide you into a space of deeper listening — not to force an answer, but to create room for what wants to emerge.

You don’t have to know what comes next to let go of what’s keeping you from moving forward.

Come exactly as you are. Bring your journal, find a quiet space, and give yourself permission to soften.
