Lulabelle Kelly Morris, 91, passed away on October 26, 2026, at Woodlands Assisted Living in Huntington, WV. Lulabelle was born March 13, 1935, in Liverpool, WV to Flavy and Eupha Scyoc Kelly. She was preceded in death by her three brothers: Flavy junior, Denver, and Kenneth. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Kenneth Charles Morris, who passed away February 6, 2026. They are survived by two sons: Douglas (Linda) Morris and Christopher (Tammy) Morris; grandchildren: Brittany (Anderson) Bales, Kelly Morris, Amanda (Brian) Kushniroff, and Bobbi (Chris) Reed; Great-Grandchildren: Bailey, Raegan, and Josi; Great-Great Grandchildren: Aubrey, Easton, Zoey, and Zain. Lulabelle and Kenneth were both Jackson County WV natives. Lulabelle was a 1953 graduate of Ravenswood High School. She was a wife and homemaker. They lived for significant periods in Point Pleasant and Barboursville WV. After retirement, Kenneth and Lulabelle spent time on their farm in Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia and traveling with the Harvest Club. They attended Pea Ridge United Methodist Church. Funeral Service will be held 12 Noon Saturday October 31, 2026, at Pea Ridge United Methodist Church, 112 East Pea Ridge Rd, Huntington, WV with visitation starting at 11am. Burial will be at Parsons Cemetery in Gay, WV. Donations to Hospice of Huntington in memory of Lou. Hall Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. James Lee White, 69, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Monday, October 26, 2026, in Roselawn Garden’s Healthcare, Alliance, Ohio. He was born May 4, 1957, in Huntington, WV. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy White; a sister, Diana Gail Wotring and a brother, Jeffrey Dale White. He was a well-known chef in Columbus, Ohio. James is survived by his father and stepmother, Jim and Jackie White of Proctorville, Ohio; one sister, Cheryl Lynn Stewart; a half-sister, Misty Zban (Mark); a half-brother, Mark McDowell; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Tim Porter officiating. Anthony Reginald Powell, affectionately known as Tony, passed away on October 16, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on November 8, 1953, in Huntington, West Virginia, Tony was raised in Proctorville, Ohio. He graduated from Fairland High School in 1971, beginning a journey that would eventually take him across the country and back to the region where his story began. Tony spent five decades living in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, where he built a life and established himself as a talented handyman. An experienced woodworker, Tony possessed a natural ability to work with his hands and a creative spirit that extended beyond his craft. He had an eclectic appreciation for art and a distinctive eye for the unusual, bringing his own unique perspective to the world around him. In 2025, Tony returned to the Proctorville area after many years on the West Coast, reconnecting with the region where he grew up. Tony was a devoted lover of animals, with a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Baxter. The companionship they shared was a cherished part of his life. Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Esther Reynolds Powell and Charles Herrick Powell; his parents, Betty Branche Powell and David Hamilton Powell Sr.; and his uncle, Charles Henry Powell. James L. Chaffin, previously from Chesapeake, Oh passed away on Friday, October 23, 1930, at Palmetto Patriots Veterans Home in Gaffney, SC. He was born on April 4, 1930, in Huntington, WV to the late Samuel and Pauline (Lawson) Chaffin. He always told everyone he was born married. He was blessed to have had two loving wives during his days on earth. Mary O. Chaffin which he was married to at age 17 yrs old for 50 years until her passing and Laura Geneva Chaffin for 24 years until her passing. He is also preceded in death by his daughter Brenda Midkiff (Russell). Jim was a loving and devoted father and was blessed to have a family that loved him so dearly. He is survived by his three daughters Marlene Gruetter (Carl), Sharon Chaffin, and Robin Shultis (Peter) and; one son Richard Nance. His other children always brought a big smile to his face. She was born September 15, 1936, in Glenwood, WV, to the late Ezra and Myrtle Mayes Waugh. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Howard and Lawrence Waugh; sister-in-law Mary Waugh. She was a member of First Baptist Church, in Proctorville, OH. She is survived by her loving husband William “Bill” Nibert; her two loving sons whom she loved and adored, Tom Nibert (Joanne), of Proctorville, OH, and Kevin (Crystal) Nibert, of Ocala, FL; Three grandchildren Zachary Nibert, Kayla Fleak, and Madison Patterson; one sister Dottie (Woodrow) Edmonds, of Lesage, WV; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Christie Lynn Payne, 60, of South Point, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on October 16, 2026, in Ashland, Kentucky. She was born at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, to David and Linda Payne. She graduated from South Point High School and was a majorette in the band. She worked several years at the DHHR in Huntington, WV.
Christie was a woman with a bold personality all her own. She lived life in her own way, her presence was well known wherever she went, and she left behind a lifetime of stories that those who knew her will carry with them forever. She was funny, smart, strong-willed, extremely protective of the people she loved, and never one to back down when she believed something needed to be told or made right.
If you knew Christie, you knew you wanted her on your side. She loved fiercely and defended the people she loved without hesitation, and she fought just as hard for anyone who needed help. If you ever had a problem she made it her mission to solve it and there was nothing she couldn't solve, fix, or do. Her passion for helping others didn’t stop at friends and family but extended into her career.
Throughout her working life, Christie held various office positions, including work in human resources and social services.
