⭐️My second week at the Kundalini Yoga ashram. The weekend. A new moon. And I want to talk to you all about dynamic meditation.
🌛As we move into this new moon, it feels like such a powerful time to release what no longer serves us ...old identities, old survival patterns, old emotions, old timelines...moving into something new.
🌬Dynamic meditation feels like the perfect practice for that.
Everyone is blindfolded.
Just you and your experience.
We begin with intense inhales and exhales, building energy through the body over and over and over until it feels like a volcano about to erupt.
🔥And then comes the release.
Screaming. Primal wailing. Yelling. Cursing. Punching pillows. Throwing tantrums on the floor like a child who was never allowed to fully express their anger, grief, fear, or boundaries.
And because everyone is blindfolded, there is a freedom in it that is difficult to explain unless you experience it.
⚡️A freedom to finally let the body say: “No.” “Don’t touch me.” “Stop.” “I’m angry.” “I’m hurt.” “I deserved better.”
The kinds of things many of us never felt safe enough to express in the moments the energy originally became trapped in the system.
🙏Then after the release, we move through other phases that help the energy continue moving before eventually falling into complete silence and stillness.
And in that stillness, you can feel it.
Energy moving through places that once felt blocked. A lightness in the body. An openness. A current flowing through the system where tension, suppression, fear, grief, and survival once lived.
🎶Then the music begins.
And the body starts moving differently. The hips. The pelvis. The spine. The shoulders.
Not from performance. Not from force. But from freedom.
💪As someone who has spent much of my life in a fawn response and deep people pleasing patterns, having the space to express rage, boundaries, resistance, grief, and truth in such a raw embodied way was incredibly liberating.
It felt like reclaiming parts of myself that had been frozen for a very long time.
